Aloha everyone!!!
I was reading somewhere that the British Army is in the process of updating their paint schemes with respect to their armored units, does anyone have any word on this and what it might look like?
Thank you in advance!!!

I thought all of NATO countries were pretty bound to keeping the same pattern for purposes of no allowing an enemy to differentiate vehicles nationalities by their paint scheme. Sounds like a wise idea to me - it would suck to have bad guys being able to pick off just American vehicles out of a group or something.

The British military is going back to a medium to dark Green with an eggshell finish.
The Barracuda Camo and yet to be released upgrade to it will be issued in a color condusive to the areas of deployment.
Any new vehicles or reissued ones coming out of the factory or base workshops may be painted in the 'local' color of present operations.
This has been the case over the past few years in the middle east.
Smaller non armoured vehicles still in good condition will be found in different colors in order to save money and paint and repainted as they wear out or are replaced!
**POINT TO NOTE** for you 'purists' and unknowing judges >
A FLAT FINISH or COAT is NOT the cure all for 'British military' vehicles due to the markings such as number tags (plates), individual unit insignia (when used) and warning lables (plates) etc. which are normally 'GLOSS'. with the usual bit of wear and tear on them...
Number plates > Many are 'PEEL and STICK' numbers and letters and unit/brigade insignia badges, most are 'Gloss' DECALS and easy to replace or remove as units hand them (vehicles) over.
Specialist units will of course continue to paint their own mounts to suit their needs and requirements (nuff said).
