This is to start a build of Dragons Flak Panzer IV Ausf. H with the use of Tamiyas Zimmerit Stickers.
Above is the kit and accessories that I will be working with.
I started off with the rear hull plate, it's easier to apply the zimmerit stickers before everything is assembled.
Here is the front hull armor plate.
I applied the zimmerit first then trimed the area for the tow mounts.
These zimmerit stickers ar repositionable, so if you get them in the wrong spot, just peal them back off and reposition them.

Next we have the hull sides. I cut the stickers for the hull sides I cut them into 5 sections to make it easier to handle them.
Below shows the left side zimmerit completed. This zimmerit set is designed for the tamiya kit, and the return rollers are not in quite the same spot on each kit.
Now here is the right side.
More to come later. Donald

Looks good so far.
I'll start getting really interested once you start putting some paint on it and weathering it. Interested to see how those things hold up.

Looking good,
have you worked with those Zimmerit stickers before?
Would be keen on an assessment of them for the future.
Thx,
Alex

This is my first try with them. I think that they look a little over scale. It might look better with some paint on.

Make sure that you spray some primer on the zimmerit before you spray with paint. The Fine Tamyia surface primer is very good and commonly available.

Here is the hull front armor plate. It's best to cut out the round area before removing sticker from the sheet. Leave extra around the outside and trim it off after the sticker is in place.
Now we have the front upper plate. I had to split the sticker to get the openings in the plate to line up better. The transmission hatches were made from the extra parts section on the sheet. As you can see the ones designed for the Tamiya kit have too large an opening where the vents go.
You should ignore the markings on the sticker sheet, unless you are building the Tamiya kit.

Here is the lower hull with some of the fittings installed.
I drilled out the drive sprocket area and added some tubing to the drive sprockets to insure a stronger fit.
Now the upper part of the hull.
More to come later. Donald

The final 3 Pictures
Well I am all finished with this model.
These stickers are usable but in my opinion a little over scale.

Donald, Thanks for sharing with us ! I've always been curious about the Tamiya Zimm stickers and now I know. They look like they are worth trying. That being said, would you ever use them again ?

No! I think they are way out of scale.
