Hi all,
I'm very new to the modelling the green world stuff so:
Could someone please advise what the best Tamiya paint match or paint mix would be for Seabee heavy plant i.e. Caterpillar 770 OHT, Caterpillar 924H WL, Caterpillar 963D TL and Caterpillar D6K XL TD.
Looking at some photos the equipment appears to have a blue/grey tint but other photos they appear just flat green.

Any help/advise will be most appreciated.

Hi Roger,

As far as I know, WWII US Navy stuff was almost always gray, unless the Seabees had equipment borrowed from the Army Engineers, in which case it would be OD.

Cheers,

Dick

Cheers for that Dick, but I should have stated "Modern" plant.

It sort of varies from vehicle to vehicle. On these examples, different parts are painted different greens

70's and 80's stuff will be factory forest green, shames as MERDC green. FS30479 or something - you'd need to verify.

New stuff is base NATO green CARC and tactical equipment arrives prepainted Tricolor camo.

Commercial equipment is ordered from the commercial factory is whatever color the quartermaster is excited about.

Cheers for the info,
I guess it's like most Mil equipment - all depends on the lighting at the time/time of day/ and the viewers colour perception .

Thanks.
