I am looking for weapons commonly used by insurgent forces in Iraq or most part of the third world. I know AK- 47 is one but there are others I just do not know what particular models are called. There are several models I have seen as MENG have issued a couple which can be mounted on pickups but there is one similiar to that of the SAW and other that I have no idea what they are called. Also, any links or tips to where I can get them, please post it here. Thanks.

DML's "AK-47" and "Modern Machine Gun Set" are your best bets. TANK also sells some 1/35 weapons in resin.
* AIM (AK-47 set)
* AK-47 (AK-47 set)
* AKMS carbine (AK-47 set)
* RPK (AK-47 set)
* PKM
* RPG-7
* SVD sniper rifle
* Type 56 (AK-47 set)
DML is said to re-release most of their weapon sets this coming June.
Hope this helps.

I'm sure you can find the DML AK-47 set still being sold online. If not, TANK sells practically all the weapons I listed above in resin.

Well let's see...
A PK (not PKM) MG, ammo, an RPG-7 with heat and anti-personnel rounds, EID triggers, tubing for pneumatic IED tirgger, a PK MG mount for the Hilux, bags of homemade explosive, some grenades, a cut down AK of some sort, and other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.
Damn. Forgot to tuck my trousers in again...

A guy I know (who posts on here) was in Iraq in 2004 +/- and said that they saw or recovered practically any small arm you could list from 1900 on.

I was there in 2003. At our weapon collection points, like Kurt Laughlin said, every weapon you could imagine was seen...AK's, M-16's, MP-5's, Kar 98's, everything. It seems they had no uniformity.

That, sir, is quite the ecclectic collection of boom sticks. Interesting, indeed!

I remember when I was growing up in Beirut during the civil war, between '75 - '82, some of the weird weapons I remember seeing were the US Thompson.. the British Sten with the mag sticking out to the left.. the British Bren gun with the mag on the upper side.. something that looked very much like the German MG 42.. a strange looking Russian anti-vehicle rifle that was taller than me, and I'm 185 cm tall... and a bunch of other weapons that I had never seen before or seen since... anything that fires you'll find it being used to some degree
But of course, anywhere you go, the AK is always the staple weapon

Something that looks like an MG-42 would be an MG3. I found one in Iraq, but the more "out there" weapons were definitely Afghanistan. ZB-30s, Martini Henry's, even a Maxim. I even took home two three inch muzzle loading cannons from the nineteenth century, found in the same are where my friend found the two FT-17's.
Here's the MG3 in Iraq:
