You know, all this is starting to sound like the "GREAT RUN-AROUND" that some of us went through with AFV CLUB's aborted M8 HMC. It took AFV about 5 years to finally come out with their "Early" M5A1, a couple more years for the "Late" M5A1 and NEVER for their M8 HMC. I don't believe until I see, anymore- WITH ANYBODY!!!

The way these hobby manufacturers jerk us around is a lot of "Schweinerei"...

PS- I see DRAGON is releasing still ANOTHER Pz.III AND ANOTHER SdKfz.10 variant. Have any of you guys heard any more about the BLACK PLAGUE M6A1 besides their goof with the turret? Instead of correcting the rather silly mistakes that they keep making in WWII US & Allied AFVs, DRAGON keeps force-feeding us the same old warmed-over WWII German stuff "dolled-up" with a few new parts...

As much as this pains me to say this, Dragon is just following the what the market wants, and WW2 German sells more then the M1A1 and M1A2 did, which why they weren't developed further (USMC M1A1 etc)

I work at a Hobby Store here in Columbus OH, and checked our distributor and they show that 3535 and 3536 will be available in Late August with a MSRP $75.59. Of course this is before any discounts that may be offered and the date is always subject to change with Dragon. However, IMHO, that is still a pretty fair price given what these kits include. I certainly will be getting 1 or 2, even though my last one only cost me $23.

I can almost see the famous Dragon marketing slogans now
"we've finally answered the pleas of desperate modellers worldwide", or something to that effect !

What I have learned about Dragon. PREORDER!!!! There have been several Tiger variants I wanted and told my local brick and mortar to get me one and I gave them the item number and the release date. Sorry... each time there were no kits available unless they were preordered online from a major online supplier. all that were shipped were were spoken for ahead of time. Kind of like trying to go to buy a ticket to a concert and 5 minutes after the tickets go on sale there are no more available unless you go through Ticket Master or another bulk buyer.

They are extremely frustrating with some of their releases, especially those Tigers

We, as a brick and mortar store will get at least 4 of each in the store, so if you have trouble, just let me know.

FYI, I have a picture of the new box art, but can't post it from here, but it states "New Molding". What can they change?

Lets just hope it isn't re-released under the "black lable" brand. If that's the case I wouldn't expect much based on what their crack team of designers have come up with so far.

I highly doubt it would make any difference even if it was. Using the logic everyone else is about Black Label is that they want to save money, so they will probably just use the original excellent molds with maybe some extra crap thrown in.

This whole Dragon bashing regarding Black Label is getting stupid. Yes they screwed up with a few kits, and suddenly everyone seems to forget their good releases which we will probably see again

I can't see them retooling everything, so I don't think that's an issue. Either we will be getting the same kit with just a new box or maybe decals OR the same kit with a couple extra sprues. Probably the former, but hoping for the latter.

Read the previous posts. The first last latest for 2014 was June. The most recent latest was a late August re-release. It's late August and still no Abrams. I'm sure we'll hear that the next latest will be a late October-early November date which translates to a late January re-release. If that's the case, expect it to be available in the latter part of an unspecified month TBA at a later date, at the very latest.

I think we're looking at this all wrong. Dragon is using a metric calendar which changes the game. We could keep our fingers crossed and hope for a February 30th release date. At the latest.

Off the top of your head, name one good Black Label 1/35th scale kit. Considering that there are, what, five releases and they're all pretty much dogs, you'd be hard pressed to come up with one.

1/35 M1A2 SEP V2 (System Enhanced Program)

Barcode: 0 89195 83556 7
Box Size: 9.6" x 15" x 3.5"

The M1 Abrams tank is one of the world’s most lethal main battle tanks (MBT), being combat proven in such harsh environments as Iraq and Afghanistan. The latest and most advanced version of the Abrams is the M1A2 SEP V2, where ‘SEP’ stands for System Enhanced Program and ‘V2’ denotes Version 2. It has integrated command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, which incorporate FBCB2 to provide very effective real-time command and control. The sights use the latest second-generation FLIR thermal-imaging system, while an upgraded Commander’s Independent Thermal Viewer (CITV) provides a hunter-killer capacity that allows the M1A2 SEP V2 to engage one target while simultaneously tracking another. Lethality improvements include a Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) II that can be fired from inside the MBT using a joystick and screen, thus reducing the crew’s exposure to snipers. Also added is a phone on the back of the tank so soldiers can talk to the crew. The M1A2 SEP V2 is clearly the predator at the apex of the US Army’s food chain!

Dragon previously fielded an M1A2 SEP tank kit in 1/35 scale, but it has now undergone its own System Enhanced Program! The result is this spectacular M1A2 SEP V2 kit that possesses many completely new parts such as the CROWS II weapon station, new commander’s cupola and the Loader’s Armored Gun Shield II for his hatch. There’s a rear-mounted tank-infantry phone, plus an FBCB2 system and a DUKE electronic countermeasure system installed in the bustle rack. All new parts have been carefully designed using Dragon’s advanced engineering processes. The kit is versatile too, for the side skirts can be shown open and the suspension arms modeled in different positions to suit uneven terrain. The liberal inclusion of photo-etched parts contribute to a simply unbeatable model. This M1A2 SEP V2 from Dragon is ready to rumble!

AVAILABLE: November 2014

Its item code is dr3556. I hope we can still build the dr3536 kit from this new one..
