Hi, I am currently building an Australian M113 with dozer blade and M577 as used in Vietnam. My research shows that at least one M113 dozer had a call-sign of 92S, Steale, but I can't find any info on placement and style. Also I have no idea about markings for the M577. I am using products from Mouse House, Callsign (Firestorm), Dio-art and, obviously, Academy. I have just ordered the Pavla Models resin tracks from BNA.(Melbourne - cheap at $2.69 ea) Has anyone used these before? Any help and info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Tony

Hi - I am not aware of any Australian M113A1s with dozer blade used in Vietnam. I would be interested in seeing what image you have. There were mine exploding carriers in Vietnam but the did not use dozer blades.

Hi JM, Sorry to take so long to reply, I was in hospital for spinal surgery. My information comes from website; "The Miniatures Page" "Bluewillow" states that an M113A1 with dozer blade, from 1st Field Sqd RAE (Vietnam - April'66 to Nov'71),call-sign 92S, name "STEELE", was attached to 3rd Cav Reg. I am looking for any photos or corroborating info to support this, the RAE website was very unhelpful. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Not really as that was a late 80's conversion. There were a couple of APC operated by RAE in Vietnam but I cannot locate any information on Dozers. There were some modified with an improvised Mine clearance rig and one of these was indeed called HMAPC Steele with another being HMAPC Flint. These have been discussed here:

Firestorm did a conversion for these vehicles but it is not currently listed on their website.
A google search of HMAPC Flint will generate a lot of useful information.
Cheers

Sorry Gary, my sincere apologies that was not intended to sound like a put down. I was just pointing out that it was talking about a 1980's vehicle. Don't let my gruffness put you off contributing.
