which IMO is one of the best tools I've ever bought

They both work pretty good, I use the shaker one on eyedropper style paint bottles.

As for answering why/who makes the paint, why do they need to disclose that? They might have an agreement with the manufacture that either party might not want that to come out as public knowledge for whatever reason.

With that being said, personally I'm not huge fan of the paint since I've always had good luck with the Tamiya range of paint,which normally goes down easier and is more forgiving painting wise. That's just my personal option though.



I have ground down the mixer part on the Badger and I can get into the AK, Vallejo, Ammo bottles without an issue. As for the paint, I have used all of them. I normally use Vallejo without issue. I had some of the old AK from two years ago in the US Armor and it was all clumped up. Now I did just use the New Formula AK from the Iraq War Set and it was fine.
I also just painted several tires with the just released Ammo track set and had no issues with the paint. I did have a little bit of drying on my AB needle but that is because I was trying the paints straight out of the bottle to see how they worked. I had no issues using them in my AB at about 15 to 20 PSI straight. I will try to thin them later when I am doing some shading etc. I normally use the Vallejo airbrush thinner, the new clear stuff, for all these types of paints and have no issues.

I have also used the Mr. Color leveling thinner to thin out Mr. Surfacer to prime mixed media kits and that thinner is awesome for lacquer paints.

Yellow cap just means they added a ball bearing to the bottle. At least that is what the add in the Weathering magazine stated.

Just some thoughts from this convo, it's all good info to get out there if repeatable and reliable at the bench. I'm a huge Gunze (Mr. Hobby) fan in general, nearly everything they make is amazing, just a tad difficult to get in NA/Europe.



Have you tried some of the Gundam specific stores for the Gunze stuff? I have purchased a lot of Gunze/Mr. Color stuff from www.hobbywave.com
There is also an east coast store, www.gundamplanet.com, but they don't have as much paint. This is the only place I have found the Mr. Surfacer 1500 in black which is awesome and grain free.
