Hi, everybody!

Today I finished my new model - Centurion Mk.5/1 Royal Australian Armored Corps in Vietnam from AFV club.

For building I used photoetching set from Voyager, Eduard, metall tracks from Friul model and other aftermarket.

Pleasant viewing

Very nice indeed. That tank looks great and the weathering and stowage is superbly done. Question though, were the RAAC Cents using a white searchlight as standard or were the IR ones use as well?

Great work, the photo etch has been handled superbly. Looks just looks the one at the puckapunyal tank museum here in Australia. If you ever want any stuff on Aussie armor or artillery let me know.

Stunning piece of work with very subtle weathering. My only point of contention would be the Plastic Water cans which are US post Vietnam. You need the British pattern plastic water cans:

Really quite a superb build. Everything seems to come out shiny(figuratively speaking). I even like the name.

Superb build! Having built the Shot version of this kit helps me appreciate the effort you've put into this built. I particularly like the look of the manlet cover. Is it an AM product?

I saw on a photo in the main searchlight in a cover. On a photo where I saw open searchlight there is IR:

and here such option which I took for glass:

There is still such photo with the removed glass:

At assembly I trusted in AFV instruction. If made incorrectly correct and I will remake as it isn't difficult.

I know this information. But in the contingent of the Australians american canisters were much used:

That particular photo shows a sheet metal plate on a Gate Guardian that was at 1 Bde in Holsworthy. I can tell you it is a non standard fitting and was put there to prevent vandalism. You can see where the workshop welded a standard .50 cal barrel directly onto the mantlet for the ranging gun. Incidentally the unit that did the refurb of this former range wreck (101 Fd Wksp) used one of the units actual 50 cal barrels from the Fitters A vehicles and one of the vehicles (88 - M806 ARVL) had a 50 cal ranging barrel until we could organise a replacement in 94. A walkaround of that vehicle can be found (along with many other Cent and Aussie armour wlkarounds) on the AMMS Sydney Website:

very nice work Dmitry

The tank looks the part ,exceptional detailing and modifying.
Just finished reading Canister On"fire" by Bruce Cameron .2 volume read and it's the best 2 part series covering operational service on the cents used in Vietnam .

Looking at your work has gained my inspiration again to build another one of these gems.

Thanks
Michael
