Hi folks. Heres some more pics of progress on the chev conversion. most of the filling done and the firewall just about finished. Added a MG access hatch in the roof and 'Quarter' light windows to the doors. This body differs from the US one as it has a local General Motors Holden cab on it as most of these where imported into Australia as cowl units only.
Still a long way to go but all comments are welcome.

top view showing firewall and motor. Cab and body are only placed on the chassis at this stage and not fixed. Note RHD

I still have to make a full canvas tilt for the rear deck and also finish the bonnet. I am adding a new hinge to the bonnet and will depict it in a raised position when I have finished. Paint will be an unusual Australian 3 colour camo of Green, mid stone and matt black all over.
once again comments welcome

Very Nice Roo!
I have no idea what you are doing.. lol , but this looks GREAT! I like the multi-media effect your kits get. All those different building materials just look cool - too bad you have to paint this beast :-)
The detail work you have added to the engine alone makes my head spin.... all you need now is to scratch build some keys and start her up :-)
VERY impressive - but hey....... all in a day's work for MrRoo :-)
Take care, and post more pictures when you get the chance.

Nice so far Cliff.
But,I notice the grab handle towards the outside on the roof looks less distinct than the other, esp in the first photo.

My words also Lord PE. Cliff these in progress pics are so informative on your part. It's great to be able to follow this build through your pics. I'm especially impressed with your fit/scratch work on shaping the nose to fit the grill and hood surfaces. Very very tight fit-Wow!
The full right side view shows the amount of scratching and mixed media you have used so far in this construction. Very impressive Cliff --- please keep us posted.

It is coming along very nicely. With the exception of the outboard grab handle already stated by Carl, this is turning out to be a fantastic build. Keep on thinking outside the "box" and keep the photos coming (++) I am a true admirer of your work. Thanks for sharing it with us all.

Carl you are right it is a little bent out of shape. I will try and remove it and either straighten or replace it.
Thanks for the comments.

Cliff,
it is very impressive it is good to see the steps you go through to get the wonderful end result, I was wondering if NZ had a vehicle similar to the Aussie 30cwt?

Hi Cliff,
This model is really something, for an old Tamiya 30 Cwt LRDG Chev kit and those [Shadoworks] resin wheels really do stand out.
This would make heads turn at our Expo, in the modified class.
Well done
Rob
