This is my try to depict the M-923 Guntruck
The roadwheels are resin by DEF Models, and the stowages are from Legend (from the LAV-25 and Stryker sets)...
Few things to be done: Add the "Danger stay back" sign on the rear, add the frond windshield and anything you might add...

The guntruck now rests in my showcase, but I'm thinking of pulling it out, and replace the rear machine gun with one of Live Resins's goodies like this:

It looks great Orestis. I especially like the paintwork for the rusted metal parts. What paint did you use?

To answer your question on the gun shield parts, the top picture would be fine. The bottom one would not have been in use on gun trucks early on in Iraq, when these hillbilly vehicles started becoming common.

Just some things I noticed on the gear. The rucksack covers on the side should be desert three-colour cammo, not plain sand or green. The purpose was to camouflage green and camo rucks/MOLLE packs. The two rucksacks on the shelf in the cargo bed look like Nam era rucks, not modern ALICE packs. Also, the rolled concertina wire on the front I would have left off. These were usually placed on Humvee hoods to erect checkpoint barriers. I don't think that guntrucks would be setting up checkpoints, as their primary use was convoy security. But someone may post a pic to prove me wrong.

Otherwise, awesome job on her. I plan on ordering this truck soon. How did the DEF model wheels fit?

The rucksacks will be painted in the correct camo (This sounds like a good excuse to take it out from the showcase!). As for the other rucksacs I took them from the Legend am set for the Stryker and thw LAV, so I supposed that they were corrected. Regarding the concertina wire I think I'll leave it there kind of artistic licence... Btw, in the last few months, I've got couple of water carton boxes for OIF, and I think I'll just throw them also in the back...
The DEF model wheels fit like a charm!! The only thing is that the “holes”, were couple of millimeters “sallow”, and I had to trim the axles...
Now for the rusted parts. I painted them (just as the rest of the kit) using brushes. As far as I can remember (the kit was build during the summer of '14), first I Applied a coat of Vallejo black mixed with couple of drops from polished steel (only a couple, because the color is “strong”). After it was dried I applied a coat of Italeri's flat brown. Later on using a piece of sponge, used Vallejo's Shadows flesh, and Italeri's leather brown (Sorry but I don't have in hand the codes). The trick is to apply the different colors, before their dried, in order to achieve a blending effect. Aftel that, a light hand og MIG's fresh rust piggment, and a coat of future that blended thw pigment. Finally a burnt umper wash, and with a 2B pencil, did the edges. That's it...

The Alice (LCII) packs are fine. The ones on the top shelf are Medium sized, bottom are Large- second row or pockets.

Very well done. I think you could use a boat-load more ammo cans. The Vietnam GT's had the floor covered in ammo cans. Machine guns eat ammo fast.....
