Hi Folks,

I wanted to share my lastest build, a modernized M24 Chaffee of the Chilean Army.

During the late 80´s, a number of old M24 were upgunned with a 60mm gun made in Israel and a new engine, since then were known as "Super Chaffee".

The model was built using an old Chaffee from Italeri (recently reissued), a metal barrel from Greg Buechler Enterprises, weapons kitbashed from a Hobbyboss M3 Scout Car and a whole lot of scratch building (mainly the modified engine deck, new muffler and its protection)

Was painted using Tamiya acrylics and weathered with pigments and washes from MIG and Ammo of Mig. Decals are from Bison Decals.

I tried to represent a vehicle just out of manouvers in early 90s from the 10th Armoured Cavalry Regiment "Libertadores"

Hi Klaus, pretty nicely done though there are a few things to think about.

First, the dusting seems inconsistent. Overall, it's pretty heavily dust/dirt coated, but then you have areas like the barrel, turret sides, left half of the turret top, and the MGs that show virtually no dust/dirt.

Next, the track on the left side isn't fitted on the sprocket teeth too well.

You did a good job on the paint with two exceptions. You might want to color the straps and buckles holding the jerry cans a different shade than the cans themselves. This will help make them stand out a bit. The other thing is to be careful painting the headlight lenses. It looks like the silver you used got all over the rim, too.

Have to agree with AFVfan's comments, but overall I like this. It's something different, and the paint is kinda cool. One more thing (and it may have been a typo), but the original Chaffee's had a 75mm cannon, so it could not be "up-gunned" to 60mm. Perhaps you meant a 90mm?

Well, depends on whether you define "upgunning" as meaning strictly an increase in caliber or an increase in power? I believe the 60mm gun installed on Chilean M24s is hyper-velocity gun that punches far above its weight, in the same league as a conventional 90mm. I'd call that "upgunned".

I like it!

The new, longer gun makes the M24 look a lot better overall I think.
