Does anyone know what green spare parts for US AFVs and softskins are? For example, the replacement hoods on Humvees or replacement road wheels for the M1A1 Abrams. Is it Forest Grean FS34079, or NATO Green?
I've also seen some vehicles in an overall green color (some Abrams tanks and LAVs, mostly). Are these the same color? Thanks!

Model Master medium green is almost a perfect match in my opinion. Tamiya NATO green is a very good option also.

Ive got a paint chip dated December 1989 (from the federal gov't), its FS 34094 and that seems to be an almost exact match with a windsensor cap that I have from a M60A3.
My 2 cents.

The FS43079 color was standard when the Abrams first entered service 30 years ago, but was replaced by the NATO Green color FS34127 later in the decade when the three color NATO cammo was introduced.
FS34079 was the base color for the MERDC camouflage system which replaced traditional olive drab in 1974--it had a selection of twelve colors, four of which were used in each scheme, and there were official schemes for every terrain and environment.
In practice, unit commanders considered the MERDC system to be a pain in the backside, and constant repainting every time a unit was redeployed was never really embraced. The practice was soon abandoned, along with the four-color cammo schemes. By the early '80's, vehicles were being left in the overall 34079 green in which they were delivered.

According to all the official US Army documents I read about it, the NATO Green - officially known as CARC Green 383 is FS34094, not FS34127.
The actual color on vehicles may indeed be often close to FS34127, but officially it should be FS34094.
