How I build stone walls.
Materials needed;

Two pieces of flat plastic, roughly the size of wall needed.

Small pieces of cardboard the same thickness as the wall is to be wide.

Thick super glue and/or clear hobby glue.

Small tub of drywall spackle.

Small stones of desired type.

Procedure;
Glue the cardboard spacers in between the pieces of flat plastic at the ends, the thickness of the desired wall.This makes a mold for your wall.
Sprinkle a layer of stones into the "mold".
Apply a layer of glue. More stones.Repeat as desired.
When this is done and dried, smear some spackle into the wall to simulate mortar as needed.
Paint, seal, etc. Done.

That is an ingenious solution sunnydog!!!

I may have to steal that idea someday.

Thanks for the pictures, it looks great! A little shiny, but really neat idea.

Sunnydog,
Your end result looks great (although shiny, as Dave said, but that's an easy fix). If I may suggest, you should do a step-by-step how-to feature and submit it.
