Thanks J, always great to get input from the king. Still trying to match the composition/sculpting/story telling that you achieve, but perhaps I should attempt to really finish a diorama first? My M-20 is screaming to get built after seeing the BoB on here...

Think I'll do alright though, no more figures to build for it, thankfully! Time to start all the painting, and actually constructing a base.

Primer time! I braved the cold, running from the house to the garage several times to prime all the figures. Right now, the total is 7, but that's subject to change. Maybe.

This guy has been in workbench purgatory for over a year...

So that's it! Damn I'll be busy. But I think it's a milestone in this build...

Thanks for looking!

It's worth it to me to go out on the driveway to spray primer because when I spray it at my basement workbench my sinuses are bad for days!! That is some wicked stuff for me to take.

Especially tamiya paints, I've done it once or twice out of laziness (a long time ago at the ripe old age of 17, forgetting to care) and regretted it both when I discovered that I was basically inhaling poison, and second, when the wonderful fumes traveled up the vents and throughout the house... So I use the garage now.

Done a bit of face painting. Tried to stick with scheme I did with the original figures- a shadow tone base, gradually getting lighter. I'm not sure I like doing it that way, but it's a learning process.

Now, here, I am a tad annoyed. I chose this head for the face with wide eyes, he looks terrified. Now, after painting, he looks like he's yawning. While I still have a bit left to do on the eye area, I don't think it'll be changing. Not a huge deal, but it bothers me hahaha.

Thanks for looking! Much to do still...

Beautiful work on the figures. Small art pieces in themselves. Paint job is outstanding.

Looking forward to see more

Thanks Jesper, means a lot

I got some uniform painting done, nothing too drastic. A few touch ups on faces too, but nothing note worthy;

Trying to convey gruesomeness, without become Quentin Tarantino.

Now onto the pants. In person I'm fairly satisfied with where he got hit, but here in the photos, it's a different story.

I'm not fully convinced. What say ye? Any suggestions?

Up next is a few darker toned washes to bring the colors together, followed by the inevitable detail painting.

Until next time!

This is really taking shape nicely. You really are getting good at conveying the drama. Your eyes are waaaayyy better than when you first started.

One suggestion: Keep doing what you're doing. Ouch! Those injuries look painful!!!

Was thinking the same thing, especially the knee one...

For the guy with the thigh-wound, I think you're right, it needs to be darker. There's still some green showing through, which if it was soaked there wouldn't be.

JMHO, of course.

Keep it up, anyway. It's looking great.

Cheers,

Hi Conor ,

it's looking good but you have to accentuate the wound much more ...

i would do the following steps ,

- first apply small spots of red paint , i juse Tamiya acrylic paint.
- Then after drying fade the spots very softly with dark red oil paint mixt with a bit black paint.
- To simulate bloody scabs and dried blood ,i use some black oil paint mixt with red paint and i apply it only at the edge of the spots and in the wound. (very fine lines or circles)

Okay....well that was my suggestion
