That's how it should look.

Looks to me like you've done a fine job on a "less than prefect" kit.

As accuracy is not the subject, the result really looks nice even if you could have weathered it a bit more.
Not only the tracks are the wrong type but the whole hull is not correct for a UNIFIL Au-F1. The hull was the one of the AMX 30B2 which has a number of differences.

Cristian, I especially like the spare track links, they really look metallic, and that heavily chipped and battered mesh is great.
Maybe agree with Olivier, maybe the lower rear end of the hull for example might be a bit dirtier in comparison to the rest. The colour right near the ground is quite similar to the lower part of the turret.
But nice, still.

Nice weathering and paint chipping! Did you buy your UN decals, or print your own?
I don't know how you feel about clichés, but you could add a UN flag to the antenna.

Thank you for the kind words and the suggestion! They are much appreciated!
@jphillips: The decals have actually been reused from my Revell BMP-1. Two times the large UN and twice the smaller letters.

I think you did a fine job, especially considering the source kit! As others have mentioned some of the weathering needs to be evaluated, and as good as the chipping and rusting is done, it might be a bit heavy for a UN vehicle that probably spent most of the time on a firebase.

Thanks Bob!
You probably know how it goes when you start weathering... Just a bit here... Stop it!!! It's going to be too much!... Yes, I know, just a little bit more here... I said stop!... I'm done! I'm done! Just this little thing here... And then you end up overdoing things

Hello
your 30's aged very well and do not forget that it is the diorama which gives it its final touch.
Olivier speaks of 30B2, it is certainly right, but the model is out there 40 years and only the addition of resin parts, modify, recent caterpillars can put up to current standards. For an old kit, I say" bravo" for editing and rendering.

Grazie Sanpiero!

Actually, building this one brought me to the idea of considering the new Meng AMX 30... Who knows, maybe one day...

It's always great to read about other modellers thoughts on kits one is interested in. Please do share the link when you get around to post the blog entry. Thanks!
