Hoping ICM give us some sets in firing poses, kneeling, standing or prone MG crews down the track, the Brits are a bit disappointing in that they are almost in step with each other (except the Officer, right foot forward). All the WW1 new releases so far are advancing with bayonets fixed...!!!!

Yes, British infantry might be more appropriate displaying the "Mad Minute"! However the fact that all the sets so far of early infantry on both sides are charging perhaps depicts the open nature of the fighting in the first months before stalemate and trench warfare set in. These figures would depict the charge of the Worcestershire Regiment at Gheuvelt well.

It's good to see these finally come along. Very much in keeping with the previous 3 releases pose wise, although I preferred the original draft poses for both the French and British sets more. You could marry these up with the Tamiya set.

With both ICM and MB starting to produce new WW1 Infantry and with the continued new releases of 1/35 scale WW1 armour and artillery perhaps we may see some more generic types that cold be use in the trenches,or as artillery crew, medical personnel.

It might even be hoped that in keeping with ICMs softskin badge that a couple of WW1 lorries come along!!

Although I'm not overly excited about these the continued release of new WW1 elements by several manufacturers does give hope that options for modelling in this scale and era will continue to grow.

As we have had 4 sets of early infantry perhaps 5 sets of late infantry might come along one of which could include a set of 'Doughboys'.

Another really well produced set of figures from ICM. I have the Austro-Hungarian infantry, and Russian infantry sets, and can say they are arguably the best 1/35 styrene figures on the market. Congradulations to ICM! But as Jason pointed out, all their WWl figures are charging with bayonets, which is OK, but some firing, reloading, wounded...etc. would be nice, too!

Whatever the quibbles, I think we all agree that it's nice to have WW1 subjects at all. This is very good news for Great War modelers, who seem to be coming out of the woodwork. A friend is buying up every WW1 tank that comes out, including the Schneider!

That's Lieutenant Poppin'-Fresh to you, and be sure to say it with respect!

Some mid- to late-war figures are definitely needed to go along with all this new WWI armor.

Even in resin there's a distinct lack of AEF figures of any sort in 1/35. I think there're just a couple, and in in pretty static poses at that. (Not particularly inspired sculpting, either.)

(Speaking of resin, a really well sculpted LTC Patton to go along with Meng's FT-17 would probably sell well for any figure company out there...)

Still, I s'pose the manufacturers had to start somewhere.

As Alan said, let's hope they keep going.

Going with the early troops it would be good to see some cavalry in the mix.

As it is 2014.....maybe we need to wait until 2017 until "Doughboys" will be made.
