Looks every bit another Faust Masterpiece, Robert. Yep, another crafty and skilful work. I like the fence the way it is now, a bit more disheveled. I'm still not sure whether I am sold on the frame, not that it matters, but as long as you are satisfied with the end result that's really all that matters....

On a side note, in the picture your wife took I noticed the led light you were using and was fortunate enough to find one just like it today at an arts supply store for 50% off... A bargain at 20 dollars Canadian!

Looking forward to trying it out!

Later.

Ola Guys

Again I want to thank everybody for the kind replies.

@ Tony
I know exactly what you mean... I constanty have to watch out that I don't step on the cat while I'm putting food in his dish. And I have heard several accounts from Grandpa's of German friends and relatives about them having a pet cat while in service.
And thanks a lot for your compliments on my previous topics and reviews. I'm glad they were of use to somebody.

@ Jonathan
Thanks mate. But calling me an artist is way too kind. I just mess about untill I end up with something I'm happy with. And I chalk up your pro vote for the frame.

@ Jim
Thanks for the kind words. The figures I'm extremely happy about they turned out really great. And I envisioned this to be almost a sort of 3d painting and the ornate picture frame helps with that. That said. It did only cost me 3,99 And it came from one of those dollarstores

@ Ryan
Thanks for the comments. The fence I like a lot as well. And if you already like it this way You will specially like what I have done with it later. You'll be surprised in the next update.

@ Dave
Thanks mate but also you are way too kind with your compliments. Nothing I do is special. If you like the fence already you will like it even more when you see the endresult. Did something major on it but you will have to wait a bit for that to appear.
As I said to Jim. From the start it was my intention to have it be a sort of 3d Painting and the frame was bought to strengthen that vision.
And 20 dollars for the light is a real bargain. For that amount of money you will have a workplace bathing in bright white light. Great find.

I already hinted at this in the comments above but I'm kinda in the homestretch. All that is left to do are some details that need be painted still. some minor weathering and then I call it done. Will set up the photostudio and shoot the final pics.

More to come soon... More to come.

Been following this since you first posted it and once again, it's looking like another first-class dio. The fence, the figures, the cat, all fit together to make the scene believable. Just one thing which I don't believe has been mentioned yet, is that there are no small arms. What would they defend themselves with if they had to abandon the panzertod for some reason? I realize that space is at a premium in such a small scene and it can be hard to avoid cluttering up a scene with "just one more detail." But if there was just one rifle, propped against the fence perhaps, it could suggest that other small arms are within reach, but just out of sight. Either way, I'm still impressed with your work.

THanks for the kind words.
It's funny you mentioned the small arms because I was just painting 2 rifles to see if I could fit them aywhere in the diorama where they did not look weird. And I'm pretty sure I found 2 good spots for them.

Ola guys
Well... I have set a deadline. And I have made it as well. The goal was to have it finished today. Januari 4th. Because tomorrow my holidays are over and I have to work again. I started making this dio on the 23rd of December the day my holiday started. And it was finished yesterday. The 3rd of Januari. A whole diorama in 11 days, a personal record.

Without spending too much more words. Here are the pics of the finished diorama.

Thanks for everybody who have followed this speedbuilt and to everybody who commented on it. Your feedback was very useful.

Just saw that on ML, brilliant idea, great setup and execution.

Best vignette I have seen in quite some time.

Cheers,

Thanks a lot for the compliments my friend. Really appreciated. Had I not have to repaint a complete figure because I dropped him I could have gotten the total amount of days back to 10 Still for somebody who tends to built with the speed of continental drift this is in comparison working at the speed of light.

@ Christophe.
Thank you sir for the very kind words. Really appreciated.

Very well done, Robert. The groundwork, the figures, and of course the kitten - each element is painted beautifully. I also like the title a lot. Congratulations

My God that was quick. Came out amazing as well. I love how you captured the atmosphere of the scene, like how everything seems to have a similar tone blending it all together. Awesome work.

Robert,

I love the weathering on the fence. I want to make a smaller fence with one/ half slat missing for a sniper.

I did notice looking at the front side (blue side) the first slat on the right side after the gun is missing two nails on the top support and the third slat on the right only has one nail at the top. Not sure if this was planned but something I noticed.

I liked the addition of the leaves. I would recommend bending some to fit the objects they rest on and not lay flat. For example on the barrel tube and the one ammo box edge.

I liked the dio very much and impressed by your skill and speed of the build.

Thanks everybody for the kind replies and feedback.

@ Mike
Thanks a lot for the compliments. And what the next 11 days will bring... Well it started off with a heavy bout of flu. sore throat and a severe cold. So not much motivation to do any modelling at all.

@ Bryan
Thanks a lot for the kind words. Really appreciated. Glad you like it.

@ Johannes
Thanks for the compliments. It was a really fun project and I'm glad it is so well accepted. The title I can't take all the credit for. I had some great suggestions of members of the audience during the built.

@ Conor
Thanks for the compliments and you actually have a very sharp eye as that is exactly what the aim was. All the colors from paint to weathering are either chosen or mixed to get an overall Atmosphere. I think that is a pretty important part of a succesful diorama or vignette. You can create a mood or feeling by using the right colors.

@ Jelger
THanks for the compliments... To quote one of my favorite Philosophers Jeremy Clarkson.... "Speed is everything"

@ Ryan
Cool plan. Looking forward to your sniperdio.
As for the nailholes in the slats you mentioned. The holes are there. Just less deep. I can honestly say that there was no specific thought behind it.
I'm glad you like the addition of the leaves. The more I added the better it started to look because I had some reservations at first. Most of them have a bend of sorts in them but having lived in a house next to a maple I can say that those leaves in real life are incredibly stiff. If you hold them by the stem the leave itself does not really bend or drape. So as they are now I'm pretty satisfied with it. And of course thanks to you as well for the compliments.

@ Karl
Glad you like it my friend. Thanks for the compliments.

Robert,

I am glad you like it, that is all that really matters. I hadn't taken in account maple leaves acting different. Most leaves I have seen around here don't look stiff after the rain and cold weather. That was my thought process to give that cold look you where after maybe a combination for leaves just fallen and leaves fallen sometime ago. Let me know if that sounds reasonable because I may try that but if that doesn't sound nature then it is not the best choice.

Thanks Bill for the compliments.

@ Ryan
Your thought process sounds reasonable to me... That is why I have leaves that are in different shades. From green leaves that just fell out of the tree to different shades of brown. Aside from the fact that that occurs in nature as well it looks pretty.

Just used Photoshop for the regular things. Adjusting the whitebalance where necessary and adding the copyright stamp.
Thanks for the compliments my friend. And greet urbanus and mega mindy for me.

@Johan
Thanks for the compliments. The new diorama is already on the bench. Will Make a new topic for that soon.

Looked through this again, still impressed by the tone and opacity it conveys, like a chilly, damp morning. New details seem to pop out each time hahaha.
