This is a call-out (I guess) to any of the major AM companies, or to anyone who may have the ear of their product planners: Now that Dragon has a couple of very nice M48s on the market, doesn't it seem likely that a good, complete kit of the M8 dozer would be a good seller? I'd buy one in a heartbeat..... in fact, I started a Tamiya M48 a couple of years ago, and built it with the front suspension partially compressed with the intention of doing what I thought would be relatively simple, converting Academy's M9 kit to work.
Problem is, I have been unable to find good enough pics of the hull mounts, and frankly, I'm just not good enough to scratch one anyway. I've seen one by another modeler, done a few years ago, and it looked very do-able for somebody like Legends, maybe?

That would be great!
I had a project of making a (straight) M48 with dozer and modifying the Academy blade, got the tech manuals but never got around to making those mods.
Cheers,
Christophe

The M8 Dozer is long overdue as an aftermarket kit.
If you guys have the references and technical documents then make a well thought out pitch to Legend Productions as to why it would be a good kit to produce for an M48 gun tank kit and be ready to provide the reference materials up front.
Perhaps include details on the Crouse-Hinds 18" tank searchlight and unique Berlin mount too to create an accurate Berlin Crisis M48A1.

lateral shot here, but would a blade from an M74 (available from a German resin co) or an M88 be usable? someone here will know better ...

I'd definitely be in, I read a book many moons ago (the title escapes me) about a M-48 'dozer commander and his crew in Nam (USMC IIRC). I've always wanted to build one ever since. The author claimed to have mounted a .30 MG next to the driver's hatch, the only M-48 with a bow MG as far as he knew. Wouldn't that be an interesting mod. C'mon Legend, it's way past about time. Al

A good early M48 looks like a likely project for Dragon or RoG, but how 'bout the M8?
If I could get my grubbies on good plans and pics, I would gladly pass them on, but that's part of my problem.....
Sure sounds like a project for Legends, or maybe DEF Model? Or, golly gosh, somebody in this country?
Just thinking out loud here.....
