I am trying to locate, with no luck so far, a metal barrel for the LVTP-7 (for the Academy kit). Would any other out there work for this vehicle, or am I as I suspect, out of luck?
Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, you're talking about an M85 machine gun barrel, I don't think there is aftermarket for this in 1/35 metal.

I've been hunting and waiting for an M85 barrel for years. Someone needs to get on this, umm Voyager maybe?
I have several P7s with the older turrets that would be better served with a metal barrel.

It might be the muzzle brake that prevents AM companies from making the M85 barrel. The conical shape and the horizontal slot is a little hard to make. Also the subject of the LVTP-7 is not too attractive for the companies.

Ya, its the same one that's on the M60 series and even all the aftermarket cupola's and such have you use the kit supplied barrel.
If you just need a replacement, you could rob one from an M60 kit.
The yet to be released AFV Club M60A1 looks like it has the entire gun (w receiver) - I'd imagine that their attention to detail may have a nice plastic barrel.
I'd like to see an aftermarket in brass that has the blank firing adapter... I know there's some in kits for the M2 that can be used, but they are molded plastic and usually end up looking out of scale and clunky.
