The problem with the co-ax mg is obvious - it's not glued in the correct place! ... I wondered why Orochi bothered to mold the "ammo magazine" on a gun where it wouldn't be visible. Then I realized it was a glue locating point! What's harder, though, is getting the gunsight linkage to be workable!

I was VERY impressed with the kit...

Really??? There are a lot more issues with it than what you posted above. Take a look at the build review I did of the kit to get a better feel for it.

I've finally gotten back to the bench and made some progress...

I've primed it using the Vallejo Grey Surface Primer. A bit tricky to use and had to clean the airbrush way too often. But I managed and it came out great. Next came pre-shading. Have to admit that this is the first time I tried that technique so my lines are a bit shaky, but again, I muddled through and got better towards the end. I'm happy with the result.

Next I air brushed the black (X1) on the road wheels. Grabbed the wrong paint and used gloss by accident. They'll get weathered soon enough and finally given a matte finish so I'm not worried about the mistake. Finally I air brushed the main colour (XF59). I'm using Tamiya acrylics by the way. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Just some general FYI: I used the Quick Wheel masks for painting the wheels. Awesome product!! I'd highly recommend them. I also used the UMP Burnishing Liquid for the Tracks. Easy to use and got a great result.

Got the wheels and tracks on. Noticed a mistake after they were on...but I'm ok with it. See if you can spot it.

Next up is weathering and some minor detail work...

Started the weathering process...

First thing was to do the tracks off the kit. Then did the lower hull just enough to get the places where I wouldn't be able to reach after assembling the upper hull to the lower. Then the tracks went on...a bit difficult to get the pin back in but I managed.

Lastly I married the upper to the lower hull and glued on the fenders.

Once the glue dries, it back to the weathering process. I'm really happy with the way it's turning out!!

The second stage of weather is now completed...used oils. As both washes and dry brushed neat. Here are the results:

Again, I'm pretty happy with the results. Next up is the final stage... A pigment scrub to both lighten it up a bit as well as add some dust. I'll be doing that in a day or two after the oils completely dry.

@ Michael

Yes, eventually. I'm planning a diorama with this kit, some troops, and the Meng M2A3 kit. Troops are basically done but needing a bit of weathering to blend in. Taking a break form the diorama (the Meng kit is buried in storage) and will be finishing up what I have on hand at the moment; 1/48 B29, 1/35 A7V (partially done - bought at a swap meet), 1/25 Jeep Rubicon, 1/24 Ford GT 40, 1/48 X-Wing, and finally the 1/35 223 in my signature. Don't have an order as to what's going to get built first except finishing the 223 next as it just needs paint and weathering.

Finally finished the kit. It was a fun build and I enjoyed it. Here is the final result:
