I doubt it. I believe it was too late, for the war in Afghanistan.

The 2S7M entered service in 1983, eight years after the original 2S7. The Soviet occupation of Afghanistan was from 1979 until 1989, even though the initial turnover and withdrawal from Afghanistan started in 1985. It technically could have served there, but I don't think they were ever deployed in theater; at least no EOB (Enemy Order of Battle) that I've seen ever had the artillery listed out individually.

Currently in Ukraine. I'm pretty sure they were in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Georgia too.

Ukraine has several (~100) of the original 2S7 systems and is currently dusting them off to be put in service again:

It says pre-order if you scroll down. Though I don't know how you pre-order something on eBay with the delivery and PayPal guarantees that are out there.

I'm not sure how you can even pre-order, without the kit being released.

Trumpeter has already shown the contents of the box of the model, along with BMP-2 and BTR-80a

It's routinely done on eBay Germany for model kits. Haven't seen it much elsewhere.

No Chechnya, no Afghanistan - and no other places.
SINGLE combat episode with 2S7 was in August 2008 during Georgian - Osetian conflict. The Georgians used 6 examples of 2S7. During their retreat Georgian troops hid all 6 examples in Gori area. Later Russian troops found 5 vehicles; one of them was captured, and other were destroyed.

Huh interesting, I swear I read they participated in more combat than that. Thanks for the info.

Well, if we talk about Afghanistan - possibly, 2S7 were there - but for combat tests only. But any exact facts about it are unknown.
And, of course, Ukrainean vehicles are in combat use today.
