Does anyone know the length of the antennas fitted to the M1A2 Abrams? Also, I notice that the antennas on certain modern US vehicles have what appear to be transparent plastic bottles attached to them. I have read that these contain a liquid that shines at night ... true, or just a myth?

Paul,
Ben is 100% correct. I'm not sure of the exact length of the antenna itself but if you have an antenna from either a Bradley, M113, or a HMMWV they would all be the same. I spent 8 years in Cavalry units with all these vehicles and we all used the same type of antenna. At least until 2007!

There are currently two types of antennas in use.
The length of the thick, green, fiberglass antenna is 8 feet which is 2 3/4 inches in 1/35.
The thinner, black, wire antennas are 6 feet long, which is 2 inches in 1/35.
