I followed the i-sheet for decal markings option 1, 5th Assault Regiment. And started a little weathering too

I started the rigging using 10-lb test fishing line. I couldn't work with the threads I have because of the stray fibers. The local marine/boat supplies store doesn't have the waxed rope fine enough for this scale either.






a little more weathering on the lower hull and running gear. This is not in final condition.

BTW, I've expanded my web search for the material this SBG Bridge is made to include "WWII Bailey Bridge". This was made of steel.

Rigging is done before paint. I see there needs to be more tension (weight) on the lines. The Bridge Carrier Hinge points are not glued yet. I'll put weight on the bridge while I apply glue at these points later

I have the day off today so I'm finally getting to this step of applying 'weight' to the rigging. This is what I did this morning.

The red ' ! ' and dotted arrows signify the cotton swab applying tension to the monofilament rigging. The white arrows indicate points of CA glue applications.

Yes, it worked I removed the cotton swab this morning and it stayed in position. It's not totally perfect but I'm satisfied with this look of 'weight' on the rigging supporting the bridge



next is final weathering with the turret installed with some dusting with pastels. Thanks for looking

She's shaping up! The weathering looks authentic. Did you find the Bailey? I recall someone made one long ago but don't recall who: Airfix; FROG; Heller..,.?

I found the history of the Bailey Bridge because I was researching what material it was made of. I figured it will give me a clue as to what the SBG Bridge was made of.

The link I found and posted above describes a material that is, welded but certainly not aluminum alloy. I then assumed it was steel

Model looks really good. Maybe where the lines slightly curve as they meet the block pulleys, you might try just bending them straighter with something like a little loop of wire to pull them in a little, then just leaving it for a couple of days and removing the loop... it might just straighten them a little.

Love the scenic photos, fabulous instant diorama.

The weather looks absolutely terrible, and the scenery even worse!!! I'm practically in tears looking at it!

Yeah, I hear what you're sayin. I might do that if over time it stretches out too much and sags. Thanks for the tip

Congrats on a great result! Really like the weathering, too. Though I do think the sand pebbles and dead tree are a bit out of scale...

what's next? While I have a few more 1/72 kits in the stash (picture), I'll probably take a break away from the small scales for awhile. I need to restart and finish a few unfinished projects waiting on the side of the bench
