What is meant by HARD EDGE camo pattern on German tanks?

It is where the edge of the colours used in the camo are defined from one to the other with a definite hard edge. Typically it would have been brush painted. The alternative being soft edge would have been sprayed on hence giving the soft edge between the camo colours. Does than make sense / help ?

I rather doubt that the factories were using brushes to paint vehicle camouflage when the completed vehicles started being issued in those schemes instead of Dunkelgelb. It takes a long time to paint a tank with brushes, as well as a lot more paint compared to spraying. As a factory would have spraying equipment, why not just use masks, much in the way that modellers do (although they probably didn't use Tamiya tape as it was hard to find in those days)?
