Are you seeing something different than the inaccurate artist's drawing I am seeing?

I'm really not well versed with the 2A4's. Could you point some of the more obvious ones out?

Are we starting to slag kits off on the quality of the box art now?

If the kit looks like the box art, there will be lots of work to fix the issues. The box art displays a hybrid . If the tank is supposed to represent a version seen in Afghanistan, you will need to add the SAAB Barracuda covering. There were only 5 deployed, and only for a few months. If depicting an in service version , you will have to drop the slate armour and the AC unit box right behind the crew commander. The box art is missing a lot of detail, from mirrors to turn indication lights mounted on the front armour. Missing the spare track mounting attachments on the front hull. The list goes on.....
This is were you will have to do some good research , lets hope the kit is better than the box art.
Cheers

To add to what Anthony stated...the driver's thermal viewer on the glacis plate looks backwards, the ancillary equipment cable attachment point is missing from above the right headlight area, the shape/details on the mantlet is off, and from a placement perspective the left antenna mount is showing placed to the right of the commander's right arm...which is impossible.
Of course I know it is only box art...but the Devil is in the details.

I see from looking at pictures of the real thing the major issues you and Anthony have pointed out. The one thing that I can't see is the mantlet. I see that it seems the shape is off somehow from the real thing but I can't pin point it.

The mantlet in the CAD is correct...the box art has over emphasized the actually gun mount where the barrel enters the mantlet and has also added some type of raised detail on the right side that does not exist.
I am now in direct contact with Hobby Boss staff regarding this kit and I'll do my best to ensure details of the actual kit are correct.

The 12 RBC had them in Afghanistan...it would be a Pepsi and a Joe Louie and not a Tims.

Lets wait and see what comes- then we will be either impressed or disapointed. In the menatime I'm just greatful that HB are doing it TBH. It looks like it might be a useful starting point for a 2A7 conversion.

I have been contacted by them, to sort a few issues out. I have seen the brand new CAD drawings, the box art looking nothing like what is coming out. The kit will look a lot different, and will look more like an actual Leo 2A4M .
So cross fingers

I concur, I have also been privy to the updated CAD designs. While things have progressed in a short period of time I think there are still room for improvement and I'll continue to provide insight as the kit details are worked out.

Just hope they get the cameras and conduits right! One could use them on a regular 2A4, but I suppose that's in the pipeline too. New tool, eh? C'mon HobbyBoss, thrill me!
Nice to hear you Guys are involved.
BTW, will be back sooner then expected as you might have heard today...

Cheers,
Jim

Hey Jim,
With the common details on the 2A4M and 2A4 the seed has already been planted for a follow-up kit. It just needs lot of tender watering, pruning, sunshine, and talking to.
