Quick question about the PAK 40. Are there cases known where the shield was field-modified with foliage hoops? I imagine these hoops (like on Panther turrets) would help with keeping the camo in place when firing.

There was no need. The conical bolts on the face of the gun shield had holes drilled through them laterally to allow crews to thread wire between them. They would then insert foliage as desired.

You're welcome. Also, the bolts were placed so the holes were vertical. Any wiring you would wish to add should show the wires going through the bolt vertically
