I do not know much about german armor but I do know a good job when I see one. I especially like the effect you achieved with the paint on the back where the spare track link used to be. Excellent work mate Keep it up.

Hey Rick, how have you been?

I am also working on a Heter, the late one, so I am intimate with the build :-)
Where did you get the ammo drum for the MG 34?
The build, paint and weather job are superb.
I am not absolutely sure but it seems as though some of you periscopes are not painted.
Also, from the reference I have and from looking at the Borden Hetzer, there should be a casting number on the mantlet.
Other than those small points, very nice.

As far as armor accuracy - that's not my bag.
My thougth is on the mud in back. I personally like the weathering all around and would have left the back a little cleaner.
IMHO - the back and sides are not weathered consistantly. I would think that the mud would cake the road and drive wheels a bit more.

I like it a lot Bear!!! The paint job is most impressive.... what is it with Hetzers anyway? lol Between yours and WeWillHold's ... I gotta get one now :-)

I especially like the subtle weathering you have managed to perform on the finish... truly amazing.... the exhaust pipe is my favorite though... :-) EXCELLENT!

Only thing I might do is to add an antenna for the radio... but if you are gonna handle it some more, that can wait until the very last .........

Great Hetzer!

Thanks for all the comments ...Oberst you're rite I got to paint the glass on those periscopes...oops!! As for the mud on the back well it is just paint pigments ...this is my first try with them ,and I agree a wash will be added ...Think I'll brush off a bit more of the pigments before the wash....I don't want this one too dirty... My next one has the wheels all muddied up...I'll show you that one soon..... On this one I took out all the stops...friul tracks , Aber fenders ,Aber P/E, CMK barrel (didn't use the Mantlet though...used the machine gun from an old gunze stug III kit with the back end of the machine gun from the kit ..The tracks are painted a mix of tamiya's earth and black,I then mix up a bunch of pastel chalks using browns and orange colors...I add some lighter fluid to the mix and spread this on over the tracks ..it dries with all the rusty colors in the cracks...then just some highlites added with a silver pencil and by scratching off the paint ...as for the ammo drum ...I think it was from a dragon figure set...The antenna will be added just before the show on sunday...you know how they can be ....

Bear,
I ike the way the Hetzer has come to gether. The exhaust is perfectly done.
I hope you feather out the mudd effect up the back, and add some and feather it out in front.Since this Hetzer has obviously gone THROUGH some mud,I hope the wheels get the treatment too.
Great jack block,BTW.

Bear,

What can I say? Magnificent work!

Is it finished? It sure looks like it to me, I can't see anything left to do.

Thanks for the pics!

He buddy, that's some nice looking Hetzer you have there. Hé, you forgot to paint the rear light, LOL #:-) just kiddin. I like the faded colors. How do you like the pigments, I tried them too on my Tiger, i think it's very convincing but mayby you want to at some mud to the wheels indeed. What else can I say... a little groundwork and your finished i guess.

Lord Bear,

Most impressive work. The rust effect is what really makes this model great, very subtle, and applied where approriate. The mud is also very well rendered. A great job.

Another Great job on the Little bloke!!
Nice overall effect of paint.
Nice rust job on Muffler pipe!
Only thing is what you mentioned the convoy light needs the paint treatment!
I see Eduard or Aber which have you used? (++)

Rick:

The paint job, especially with the soft blending of the colors, makes this one a stunner. When I saw the first pic --- "Wow"!! -- was the first thought that came to mind.

I agree with your comment on the rear deck mud, and, your front vision slits are very very cleanly painted, (unlike others I have seen -lol ).

This is good stuff----------oh by the way.

H-eck of a good looking model.
E-verything looks really well done, (ie track, camo, detailing)
T-op shelf workmanship
Z-owy!!!!!!!
E-ven application of washes and weathering
R-eally great weathering on the muffler/rear deck area

I bow before this Hetzer.

That's 2 brilliant recent Hetzers......I'm in love.
I WANT A HETZER!
For an airman, that's high praise.
Superb. Like the touch of rust around the track guard edges.
What's the 0.1% left to do?
Congrats.
