My bet is that the individual who authored that racist piece is some clown who belongs to one of "American militia" movements. Anyone can get a business card from Pronto printing and put any by-line on it they want. This clown definite is not a Wild and Crazy kind of guy.

Hi fellas, I didn't read tthe article but have read many Like it. In most cases I just ig nore them as there are are people who deal with such drivel. As to the M1 in Israeli service there are none, Although they were studied. Israel uses the following. M60/M60a1/M60a3, their designations depending on level of modification. Magach 6s are all blazer modified, most with Merkava style tracks, new sighting system and turret basket. Magach 7s are those with non reactive armor and depending which source have sub categories of a/b/c and according to some d. The SABRA tank is NOT in use with Isrtaeli forces and was meant as an export for markets like Turkey who are looking to upgrade aging fleets. Centurions are basically mothballed or transformed into specialized apcs. Rumpor has it the Merkava MK4 is already in production and was supposed to be unveiled this past may but was delayed due to current situation in Israel. Hope this clarifies the question.

Because I got annoyed at the tone and scope of the rambling "letter" to General Powell, I responded to the author through the address provided. I questioned only his accuracy in describing the M1A1as a part of the IDF. I will be amazed if I receive a response, but if I do I shall share it.

210Cav,

Be prepared that if you get an answer, you're probably on their e-mail list, so you will receive even more of their fine prose in the e-mail

But yeah, let us know if you do get something back to brighten our day....
