I don't do knocked out tanks, but it looks real to me.

I was viewing this on my phone and at first thought I was looking at a pic of the real thing you were trying to replicate.
So, awesome job.

Have to agree with everyone else, you pretty much nailed it, at least as far as those two pics show. More please!

You did an amazing job! The natural light and harsh shadows make it look so real. If you wouldn't have had mentioned it's a model I would also have thought it's the original you're trying to replicate!

Thanks to all for your kind words I am thinking about doing a little more with pigments.
I scratch built a rudimentary turret interior and engine compartment based on photos. Not 100% accurate but with the limited view thru hatches it should be ok. Here are a couple pics earlier on and showing view the hatches.

It is 1/35 the scale. I'll add more pics later today.

Looks really good. Only thing I would recommend would be more damage to the tank. it looks like it caught fire pretty good even to the turret. Any ammo inside the tank would of cooked off with the tense heat. this would cause more significant damage.

Looking good from the pics but we would appreciate more. Was the damage from a RPG/mine/IED?

Sorry for my absence. Work has been crazy lately. I will get more photos posted soon including the one my work was based on. It was taken by a friend of mine who was with Crazy Horse troop 7th Cav in OIF 03. The T-72 was hit by 25mm fire which ignited the fuel tanks resulting in a burn out but not catastrophic detonation of the ammo. Thanks again for your input !

Here is the pic my friend took in Iraq. I did embellish a bit but was the main inspiration.

Can't beat reality!!!! Thank you to your friend for his service! We have all seen so many photos of Russian supplied tanks blown to hell and back when we see a real photo it confuses us! I would love to see a after market parts bag with "knocked out parts". Fuel cells, bogie wheels, etc. We all have those parts in our parts storage but some extra items such as tank interiors would be helpful.Remember the most common late 20th Century historical photo is a "knocked out Russian tank".
