Well what about using Panther D tracks on The G version sound like an Idea?
I have a set of Fruil tracks D version without Cleat .
I know latter version had cleat .
Sound plausible!! (++)

Hi. Why not? Things were getting pretty well mixed up towards the end of hostilities, and what was available was used. So I would say it would be okay. Sure does save buying another complete set of tracks. And, if later on, you happen to get a set of tracks that are more appropriate, you can switch them. But this is just my opinion.
Take care, Sgirty

Howdy sgtreef,
Glad you got an answer. Hopefully the one you were looking for.
I can understand your apparent frustration with the lack of an immediate answer to a possibly difficult German Armour question...especially with so many German armour modelers on site! But don't get your blood pressure meter pegged so quickly. Maybe other, more learned members are trying to research an appropriate answer for you before posting a reply? Hmmm?
Ya know, one of the potentially 'positive' things that come out of old age is not really caring much about other people's opinions of you. When you're young and full of vinegar, you are almost always overly concerned about other people's opinions. Maybe some of the potential responders to your post are just simply trying to 'get it right' before they put their response out there in the open for all to see?
Have faith my friend.
....and relax.
Tread. :-)

Another thing is... I went through the list of latest posts and this wasnt there a while ago. When you post it goes down the list very quickly as there is so many posting.. all in different forums! Also there are so many posts that its hard to see what you are interested in.
I would have to agree with sgirty. There were so many swap arounds and quick fixes that anything is possible ... Would be better to get a confirmed reference for certain and Im afraid I cant help with that!

Howdy sgtreef,
I am most sorry to hear of your troubles. That type of thing can break your heart, as well as affect other things. My very best wishes for a positive outcome to the situation,
Now, regarding the track 'thing', I would have to agree with the other posts. Short of an actual photo of a Panther sporting alternate tracks, you would have to go with a 'quick fix' type of application. My suggestion is to place the Panther in the defense of Berlin. I'm pretty sure(?) that any Panther's that were left at that point would be wearing any kind of tracks they could get their hands on. And, (now here's a good example of wanting to take the time to check resources before answering ), I believe night fighting Pnathers were used in Berlin.
hth.
Best Wishes,
Tread.
BTW, glad to hear you're still full of something! :-) #:-) #:-)

Sorry to be the contrarian but I would say that although it is possible, I would say it is probably very, very unlikely. You're correct in that there was the two-dimple early tracks and the later six-cleated tracks. However, the later tracks make their appearance early on in the Ausf A production series. Therefore, there were 1000's of later tracks made while the early ones were probably shipped out and exhausted. You'd have a better likelihood of an old ausf D veteran with new cleated tracks rather than a factory fresh ausf G wearing 2-3 year old stock of a complete set of early tracks.
Again, you can't prove a negative and I don't want you to be too influenced by the nitpickers but you asked a valid question that deserves a valid answer (rather than cater to your specific situation of having the wrong Fruil set).
Maybe post them up for trade? Heck contact me and I'll see what I have by way of late Panther tracks. Is your set the later wire system?
