Well, the photos show them upside down on both sides....

David,

Thank you for pointing out an issue with the instructions. I would ask that you clarify what you mean by upside down as its not clear to me. I say this because I have seen reference photos with the spare track mounted in both directions.

So I am asking, are the mounting brackets backwards or are you referring to the track itself. If your referring to the track are you indicating that the center guides should be against the turret as opposed to sticking out?

Again, I only ask as I have seen reference photos showing the tracks mounted both ways. So any clarification you can provide is appreciated.

Hi everyone, the weather did cooperate for a short period of time so I was able to get the first color of the camouflage applied. I used Tamiya Red Brown.

It was applied using an Iwata Eclipse Airbrush. I have to admit that it was my first time using this airbrush and I am amazed at what it can do.

Anyway, here are the photos.

I am pretty happy with the results but am really looking forward to applying the next layer.

I do apologize as the next step in painting will be delayed a couple of months as the model shop is currently on a slow boat to the Pacific. I will reengage as soon as I am able to reestablish the model room.

Thanks for stopping in and as always comments and suggestions are welcome

I mean that the end of the track link that you have put towards the sky, should be towards the ground.
Specifically; the two guide horns on each track link should be closer to the ground when the track link is installed properly in its holder.

The crews did sometimes mistakenly install a few links, or all of the links, upside down on a real Tiger; but in that case the links were not properly locked into the holders and did not sit solidly in them.

Since you had the freedom to glue the holders where you liked, you perhaps did not encounter this problem.

Here are some properly installed links.

I have another suggestion: the rectangular outline on the hull, just behind the driver's hatch, should not be there. It is used by Academy in other Tiger kits that share this same roof part.

No it should not be there. OP you will need to sand the area down carefully and re-spray.

David maybe you should post positive comments occasionally? Just a suggestion that when someone spends hours on a model some positive words go a long way.

OP I think that you have a nice looking model

Gentlemen

thank you for the comments. Once I have the kit back in hand I will attempt to address those issues you have outlined. I will also review the instructions again and highlight the discrepancies.
