Here's a Dragon Pz III G from the very first of the North African Campaign.
I used Tamiya mixes for RAL 8000 over straight dark panzer gray. This conveys the look during those opening months when the appropriate paint was in short supply.

I scratch built the jerry can rack and added all the track link armor based on period photos.

Really nice, Ian!! Top-notch weathering & dust effects. The link armor covering its' backside is an interesting look.

Thanks gents. This was a fun build for sure..

Perusing old photos led me to building this unique looking panzer. Who can resist something out of the ordinary, eh?

I believe the pith helmet is a leftover from the figure sprue in Tamiya's venerable Panzer II kit.

Very nice -- I especially like having panzers having various knick-knacks on it. Just on the tail-light lens -- was it intentional to paint over with the base color? Not sure if the angle of the pic makes it seem so. Cheers

Very nice colour scheme?
What kind of mix have you used?

TatBaqui-I suspect It looks that way because I covered the tail light with a heavy layer of pigments. From that angle it looks like it was painted over.

Raphael-The below mix was found on an internet search and I believe comes from the extensive research of Mike Starmer.

I used Tamiya paints as recommended for this one, mixing XF 60, Dark Yellow and XF 52 Flat Earth at about 60/40. To that I added about 30% of XF 4 Yellow Green.

The goal here is best described as a medium golden brown with a hint of green. I liked it at first but after a day in the jar felt the paint needed something else. Here is where I followed the advice of the author and added a couple of drops of X 6 Orange. That looked better to me.

I lighten this with a drop or two of XF 57 Buff for modulation purposes.

Remember close is good enough.
