New standards set. Some questions:
1. are they printed in one piece?
2. It looks like the 'originals' have been correctly dressed re- enactors?

What scale are the helo crew? They look absolutely awesome! I was hoping for an accurate looking flight helmet as is currently been used by US helo crews.

There is a common misconception that all 3D printed items have a grainy surface to them. The reality is it all depends on what type of printer and what process you use. The "home" type of printer usually has the roughest features while the high end printers used for rapid prototyping can have extremely smooth surfaces. Also this technology isn't static but improving month by month.

Okay. This is really nice stuff. I have used really high end 3d printers for masters ( not Shapeways) and I don't know the whole story and what these guys are doing, but something appears to be game changing here.
Are they scanning real people, cleaning up in 3d and then using a different 3d printing process.
Just saw the 1/72 scale prints and my jaw is hitting the floor.
Are they using the 3d prints to use for traditional casting?
Any more details?
Amazing and exciting stuff here.

These are great. There has been a ton of work to get these to look this good. I really think you have done a wonderful job.
It shows you how in real life clothes have a ton of wrinkles in them. I was scanned with a 3d scanner at a trade show and was amazed at how many wrinkles my pressed pants had.
Just so everyone knows it is not something as simple as dress a person up and scan them. It takes a long time to get the scans and you hope there was not too much movement. Afterwards the scans need to be cleaned up. There is a ton of work in that.
I have to process this kind of stuff everyday in my job and the results he has shown us is top notch.
I hope that they can be printed in 120mm scale.

Reedoak will not cast, you will get directly the 3D print as they are shown above. Some of the finest details will be there despite they will be (but not too much) fragile : the goal is to have a quality that equals the best models with added aftermarket and it was the reason why this project started.

Really excellent figures, but $25 CAN each is way too pricey! I realize printing is an expensive process, but how about just printing the master and casting the product?

My request is for an easier order process. Trading email, then trading payment info, then shipping is not a high volume sales operation yet. Perhaps that buffer is better than being overwhelmed with orders that cannot be filled? Starting out slow with word of mouth advertising does open opportunities for competition when the process becomes better known in the months to come? Will be interesting times ahead. email sent.
