hey guys here is a dio I was working on recently its a scene from aliens vs predtor requiem. I used the academy stryker recon straight out the box and added working headlights rear lights and interior lights.
I then made 2 hummers 1 was the academy cargo and the other the Tamiya gun truck both 35 scale and both have working headlights and tail lights. the cargo has the stryker accessory kit in the rear with the bergans belt kit boxes etc the Tamiya had the 0.50 added instead of the gmg and I smashed the rear window as if the alien had just chewed the soliders head as per the movie. both the hummers have intentional steamy windows as if the heaters are on and the cold rainy night is misting the windows up.
the whole dio is thick gloss to sim the rain that was poring down in the movie.
the dio comprises of 00 gauge plants and the fern tree, I used 35th scale bricks to make the wall and styrene to make the railings, the pavement was made by 35th scale roof tiles to make the path, the street lights are mini art which are also lit one is white the other is flickering to sim as if its shorting out after someone shot it in the fire fight with the aliens. I also added a helmet and some 35th assault riffles and made some empty brass casings that are on the floor.
the dio is a copy of the actual street in Canada where the movie was filmed as best as I could and for the spotters the stryker isn't cannon to the movie but is correct if you read the book, they used an Omni international 8x8 v 150 s which I found out after I already bought the styrker :-/ heres some pics and the video anyway :
the avp dio is at 09min 30. the shaun the sheep dio I will post up shortly

Did you get your hands on an old xenomorph figure from AEF or scratch one up yourself?
I coulda shoulda stocked up back in the day when they were only 'obscenely' priced, rather than obscenely priced and rarely available...

Thanks for the comment buddy it's an official insanely priced aef designs alien buddy got from eBay in the states which bumped the price up more with shipping. I just need 2 more 35th scale aliens and it will be finished at last but like you said there uber rare.

This scene is fantastic Craig- very imaginative especially with the lighting. What did you use for the blood?

Thanks buddy appreciate the comment. I used humbrol dark gloss red as a base coat and tamiya clear red over the top and then gloss varnish over all of it buddy I also watered down the humbrol with white spirit and streaked it so it looks as though there was movement of the bloke being dragged away.

Craig that looks fantastic, love the blood and hints at past action, it brings it to life, especially at night on the video with the smoke and wetness, really cool. Have you done any other Aliens models? I love Aliens, looking forward to the next Prometheus and the new Aliens film

Hey bob yeah I've made a fully lit m577 apc from aliens I've made the 1/9 alien from alien which I'm making a dio for but I'm scratching up a scene from the game alien isolation which is going very slowly I've also got a power loader waiting to be done and the 2 kits I really want if I can find some cheap enough is the 1/72 ud4l cheyenne dropship and the new polar lights sulaco which is nearly 6 ft if it ever gets released. I'll post the aliens stuff in the geeks monster what ever ot is called forum for you if you like so you can have a look.

Oh they sound really cool, yes post them over at ModelGeek / science fiction please and links to any more videos if youve got them too! Ive got an "Alien Reaper" spaceship thread over there, we need more Aliens! Id never heard of Polar lights, so googled them WOW that 6ft Sulaco is just awesome!! And the canceled Alien Queen looked so good too! Hopefully with the new films more models will be made and they might just release that Sulaco for you!
