Hi Mike these pictures went right on by and I never saw them when first posted ...From what I have read these tanks were the only ones not repainted before D-Day and were in their old colors (something to do with being with the Royal Marines )...I used a mix of Humbrol 29 and a bit of green added ... But I have heard stories that now they think some were painted ...I like the color might be a bit light ,but after a wash or two and some weathering it should all come in about right ... good luck with those decals ...just remember to cut them up into smaller workable sizes...

Just to stick my oar in a bit.

Mike, Have you tried to gloss the decal area first? I find it helps.

Lay the decal, then you the solvathingy-ma-jig.

Matt clear over the top (or sometimes when you wash and weather it will hide the gloss coat.)

Yeah Cromwell this usually works but these decals are tough!!! Thick and go all over the turret ...I used that method and still had trouble ....lol... this is how mine turned out ...

Mr Bear,

Could you post close ups of the turret? especially on the decals?

Did you do yoyurs as hunter? or did you choose a different name? can't see from the pix, looks good from here though

I am working on a centaur at the moment and have looked at the decals (with holes in). Do you recommend building the turret full then cutting up the decals around the lifting hooks or decal then add the lifting hooks after?

I have got as far as sanding and chipping the wheels so far and sticking them on the axels (plus all the previous step of cousre ......duh! #:-) )

Do you have any extra tips for this??

Mike..............Made any more progress?

Must get one of them digital camera thingies................. :-)

Don't make the same mistake I did ...keep the hooks off till after decalling ...you'll save yourself alot of swearing!! Remember LOTS of solvaset!! My decals show a bit but I think I didn't give myself much chance as I cover my kit with pastels ...the edges show a bit here and there but I'm happy with the results as a whole. As for more pictures well I don't have anymore sorry ....
