A few more in-progress pics. Most of the main assemblies are loose for painting later. I will say that this kit requires a lot of preplanning in order to paint it.

Chris, your build is shaping up great. I hear you about the meticulous pre-painting planning - I got this kit as a present last Christmas and built the chassis right away, but got demotivated because of the planning and stopped. Maybe your build will inspire me to get going again - Thanks for posting!

I cannot but repeat myself: WOW!!! Amazing how much details the kit has.

How are you planning to paint the panels with all those details?

From the photographs I've seen the lower chassis is black and everything else dull green, with notable exceptions in the crew compartments.

Highly recommend this site for anyone building one of these.

It's the reason I'm now going back to add brake lines and other assorted plumbing details. So much for a quick OOB build.

Was wondering if anyone has used Alumilite to cast small parts - good or bad results?

The one area Trumpeter punted on was the mass of cabling at the rear and the various fittings. They did however provide one valve fitting which is in a stowed position - this is what I want/need to cast

These are the kit parts with the fitting below

Here are some pics of the real thing

Alumilite is great stuff. I only quit using it because I found something cheaper. Keep it refrigerated if you get it.

This area on the real vehicle is a maze of piping, cables and hoses. Will take a while to get it looking right

I was just wondering if you've got any progress on this one lately? I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this done.

Cheers,
Cristian
