This is the Meng AMX-30B2. Finished construction a while back and has been given a coat of primer. Think in this configuration I'm stuck doing it in the desert scheme. Almost OOB, I did add power cables to the search light. I will be using Friul tracks.

Nice build indeed. If you can you should put the exhaust flipping covers in the open positions. Like you put them, this is when the tanks were prepared to wading operations.

The sprockets look like they are the late model while during Desert Storm, they still were the initial one. I know that Meng provide both in the 30 B and I guess this is the same in the B2 one.

Another minor point is the searchlight near the gun, the doors should be closed but this is not mandatory.

Thanks for the tips. I still have the open flappers and should be able to change them out. Made up both sets of drive sprockets, waiting for my Friul tracks to arrive to see how they fit.

A little bit more work on my AMX. I added the running gear and tracks (Friul) and painted the overall base color. Need to add the flat horizontal plates and exhaust shrouds after I do the disruptive pattern and detail painting.

Nice base color.
The sprockets are not correct for this time frame. The right ones are those with the short teeth.
I didn't notice it before but you should thin the 20mm coaxial cannon muzzle from inside.

Nice and clean build! You are off to an excellent start!

Are the Friul tracks worth the extra money? I thought you have been using rubber-band tracks until I read your description...

Cristian
