Finally a plus for Dragon - they're re-releasing their old Kubelwagen ambulance with figs. http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/prodd.asp?pid=DRA6336 No way they can screw this one up...or can they? At least their Kubelwagens are back on the market!

Meh... probably just trying to get the most out of their old molds before they replace them with bobbleheads.

One I missed. If they keep the price realistic I may get one. But I fully expect it to be £30+!

Unless something has changed "their" Kubelwagens were in fact Bego/Tasca ones put into Dragon's boxes.
The Bego/Tasca kit is very good and some say better than the Tamiya one. I'm thinking this is just a straight re-release with a couple of minor items added.
Don't think they'll change the Kubelwagen element as that was excellent to start with, and the figures...reasonable for the time they originally came out, looking a bit dated and poor compared to what plastic figure companies are making now.
If you want just the Kubelwagen, keep an eye on Ebay for a Bego/Tasca to come up for sale if you want one of those. Failing that buy the Tamiya, just as good really.

Unless Dragon has substantially changed this kit it DOES NOT include the Kubel itself. Only the parts necessary to convert a Kubel into the ambulance variant!
The set does however contain a wealth of medical figures, - more than are listed on the box.
1 - Doctor
1 - Nurse
1 - Walking Medic supporting a
1 - Walking wounded soldier (nicely done pair)
1 - Wounded soldier on stretcher
1 - Kneeling medic attending to soldier on stretcher

Hi
I think you may be correct in that its only parts not a Kubelwagen Michael. I seem to remember someone saying about it and their disappointment when opening the box...but it was a long time ago.
I believe they have released the Bego/Tasca kit though. It certainly shows that's the case if Scalemates timeline is correct.

From your list it would seem you get the figures from Dragon set 6074 German Medical Troops, plus a few others

They actually did release the Tasca Kuebelwagen combined with the medical troops set. It's a really nice kit. Jeff

At least there is some attempt at "new-tooling", and some limited PE. And it's not another Pz lV, StuGlll, or Tiger!

***** Our collective memories probably have a few cobwebs , ha ha...the kit featured in the news snippet is the re-release of Cyberhobby no. 6336. It contains elements from the four pack Medical Troops kit and parts from the "Ambulance Conversion kit" as well as the Bego KW.
Like many older DML kits it contained figures not mentioned on the box or listed as "not four use" inside. The horse drawn panzerschrek and horse drawn panzerbusche set as well as the German Communications centre are other examples of extra figures (as they were simply reboxed sprues from earlier four pack releases). Nice to see it back. I liked the old DML/Bego/Tasca better than Tamiya because it comes with "bonus" (not for use) desert tires as well as figures and PE fold down tilt arms and a nice little canopy.

Maybe Dragon will also re-release the radio version, and the repair versions of the Kubel.

Julian you are correct; in the set I bought, the box did not even mention the wounded soldier on the stretcher nor the kneeling medic attending to him.

Great news! I need one of these (along with the Opel maultier ambulance) for a Normandy dio I'm working on where the central part will be a farm and farmhouse being used as a Regimental Aid post or the German equivalent. I'm planning on setting up an operating theatre in a barn so the doctor and nurse figures will be ideal for that waiting for more casualties to be unloaded and assessed. When this first came out it didn't appeal to me but it just goes to show how your tastes change with age. I've looked at the old reviews and they seem pretty good. At least I can stop trawling ebay now lol.
