Johnny,

Let me be the first one to congratulate on a job well done. It shows that although out of box, you can do a very good job for it.

Very nice.

Hi John,
handsome brute. Is the slogan a decal or did you hand paint it? Forgive my ignorance as I'm new to "Trackie" stuff.
Looking forward to more as you go.
Cheers
Peter

Lord After Market:

Congrats on your AGE oob build, (gotta love that big beefy Russian armor :-). As you've mentioned in your post, some weathering will knock this one up another notch from where it is now. It looks like you've done some preshading and color variations of the base color to add interest to the monotone paint job---looks good! Some drybrushing with the base coat lightened up with white could really make some of the high points "pop". Good clean job here John---well done.

Comrade Commander - sweet looking Russian monster :-)

I like the color variation you were able to achieve with the paint job.... did WWH share his secret with you? He won't tell me, so I thought maybe you could let me in? ( :-) hehehehe )

Anyway - I'd fill the motorization hole in the side of the hull with some putty, unless that is not considered OOTB? I don't know what the final verdict is on that.

Nice,
I think OOB lets you fill holes.Or,round out the hole, add spalling, and make the turret look burned out. Then you would have where it got hit and KO'ed by opposing forces.

210 Cav (D J Judge) posted a reply in the duplicate copy of this post (which I have deleted)and asked what paint and method you used to do the rust on the mufflers.

Very nice build you got going ..like the faded panels and all ...did a great job on the decals too ..I wouldn,t dare try to add those to my kit ...lol if you want one comment it would be on the tracks ..russian tanks are known for thier track sag there is a quick and easy way to do this with the tracks from the kit ...What you do is take a pin vise and drill a hole between each return roller pushing down on the tracks to show sag...you then add a straight pin to hold the track down ...This would be easier if the top and bottom of your hull is not glued yet you just add a support inside the tank to keep the pins straight ..if it is glued together you just have to push the pins in deeper to hide them better...here is a picture to show you what I mean.....

i base painted the spare tracks with a 1:1 mix of Tamiya Flat Black and Metallic Grey.
Then i got the trusty ol' pastels and brushed over some light rust on the tracks. that's all ayou can see in the pic. since then i added a wash with humbrokl flat black to tone down the pastels.
