DS tracks are not worthy of being on a build with as much work and effort put into it as this. Friuls or some other indi link tracks would be more fitting.

Thanks guys for advice.

I've used DS in my Jagdpanzer IV and they were quite quick and effective way to solve the tracks issue. I've also used DS in my M4A2 build with the same easy way.

I heard that the DS like to crack after some time, but never belived it. Now I have to think it over again... as far as I dont want to get the unpleasent surprise after some time...

Witam,

After several battles with the paintig proces the Panzer looks as below:

Model needs still a lot of work, but I think it is going stright to the final stage.

The final paint job and chipping looks excellent.

Lukasz, I like the worn out, faded look. What color did you use? Cheers, Tat

Hey Tat,

I've used the RAL 8000 color from AK Interactive DAK set.

Lovely working skills and a beautiful and trustworthy paintingjob. My only issue, very small though, is with the smashed backfender. What's the story behind the damage? Did the tank reversed in to a palm tree or got collided with another tank? How did the accident and damage then affected the paint on the fender? Maybe some scrapings and areas with bare metal to enhance the damage effect and overall apperance of an excellent build.
Regards
Mats

Wow, what a BEAUTIFUL paint job, and really realistic looking chipping and weathering! You should be really happy with your tank so far...I know I would be! Great model!!

Thanks guys for kind wods about my build.

I saw this kin of damage on one of the photos from Africa, and I think it could be a result of reverse ride during some tank dual or just the way those metal parts wer damaged while moving on a rocky terrains or narrow trenches.

I'm not fully satisfied with the actual look. I think there is so much to improve. But also I know how easy is to overdo some effects.

I hope to end this build in may - quiteoptimistic plan anyway...

Have it look like the sand has blown/drifted part way up the road wheels and have a modern toyota truck stopped near it with a couple of people looking it over.

Lukasz, you have motivated me to buy this kit! I also have the Tamiya 88 kit to build a Halfaya pass diorama. Thanks for the motivation!

My best,

Bill

Hey Bill,

Its a great model, but it need definietly a PE clasps for tools and DS tracks are the issue, as you can read above, that not everybody loves.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your build!

Hello,

I made the dark wash, to enchance the small details. Now I ned to paint the tools and mount the wheels with tracks.

Sorry for the poor photos.

Hello,

I've tried to complete the track and wheels building proces but I found out something hilarious!

The DS-tracks by Dragon are too short -I mean the DS-tracks provided with the box not any aftermarket stuff...

There's no way to put the tracks on sprocket wheel and idler wheel (even if the other road wheels aren't attached). I've cheacked the idler wheel mounting and it's on maximum position close to the sprocket wheel direction, so it's not a mistake made by wrong positioning of the wheels.

Now I have to take the tracks from other kit - of course with individual track links.

I just don't know what to say... I feel that Dragon just made a big joke out of my work.

A bummer indeed. If the track's way too short, could it be a case of a bad production batch that you may ask for a replacement.

Th tracks are alredy painted and weathered.

My mistake to not check it before painting - but who could even supposed that the original kit tracks will be too short?

There is one option - use a track links from other kit.
