Very nice looking piece. Just two suggestions that pop out:
Eliminate the fuzz on you cable - many ways to accomplish this; and your proms are the modern type, not used in WWII.

I like the idea of saving uniform, painting instructions for future use.

Yea, I'm ditching those. The Bronco M1A1 155 kit has munitions closer to that time period. I'll use some of those.
