I was wondering if the M3 Lee style suspension was mounted on M4 (not M4A1) Shermans. If so, can anyone post a picture?

Yes, of course it was. That was the initial VVS. Only later, did the Medium tanks have the trailing return roller arm VVS bogie unit.

The centrally mounted return roller over the VVS bogie (i.e. the M3-type bogie) was on the M4A1, M4, M4A2 initially. The M4A3 and M4A4 pilot models had the trailing arm return roller.
