started this back in 2013 and decided to get it finished.
A few more steps to go and I'll be done with it. Then I will add the lifting beam and Chally power pack, either on the back or on the ground...
Bye for now, see ya when I'm done with it.
Keith.

Keith,
That's looking rather nice, my friend! You've done quite a good bit to your ARV since last we saw it.
Here's what I remember it looking like from August, 2013:
I'll have to come by the shop and see it, since I won't make it to the meeting this month.
I can see this making a really great vignette or diorama. The boom would add a vertical dimension and a natural triangle composition.

Thank's for the encouraging replies gents. It has taken me a while to really get to grips with my vision of a Vignette but with the national AMPS show being held here in South Carolina (Sumter) in 2016 and hosted by our club, the beast needed an airing and completing.
With the new TAKOM Chieftain releases, what will Accurate Armour have in store next for converting them to other items.
Jeff, I will take it to the store and I need your expertise (help) once again.... Wow that IS an old photo!
Point to note though, this is a Mk. 7 ARRV and not a Mk. 5 ARV...
All of the markings have been suitably distressed to match the hard work and look of the beast.
Keith.

A small amount of progress since my last posting.
I spent another couple of hours working on the power pack over the weekend and I estimate it will take another one or two dedicated to hoses and wiring before I can add some paint to the sub assemblies and main pack, then start joining them together.
The sub assemblies consist of fans, fan matrix, fan belts, oil and fuel filters and radiators, they have yet to be finished off and painted before things can be completed..
Then of course I have the lifting beam set to work on.
The painting of the pallets shouldn't be an issue (I hope) but painting resin to look like wood can be a little difficult if it is to look realistic.
Yes I know I could have made them out of Balsa wood but I had these Resin ones in my stash already.
So here is where I left off Sunday afternoon, I will (should) be able to continue this coming Thursday (Thanksgiving day)...
Thanks for the comments and looking in.

After a few frustrating hours yesterday a small amount of progress on the power pack can be seen here.
The instructions are poor at best because the pictures are not laid out in a logical sequence and poorly copied. The end result means lots of back and forth between the pages and the two colored final assembly pictures, plus kit box top.
No written help is provided except to indicate that the radiator guards should be attached after painting, well that's bloody obvious!
A few parts were badly molded and resulted in some scratch building and reshaping.
I do need to straighten up a lazy filter that some of you will spot
On the stowage/transport frame.
That will do it for now.

Christmas morning I did manage to add a base coat of paint to the power pack and set it aside to dry.
While it was drying it was time to start sorting out the base. I measured off the area that would be required for the vehicle and pack and then cut some foam board to fit.
I peeled of the slick surface to better enable the groundwork to adhere to it.
The edges of the actual vignette have been closed up by framing it in with strips of Evergreen plastic, it will be painted later.
A quick temporary positioning of the REME and Desert Rat badges and now I can see what space is left for the info plate.
Coming together at last.
Today I hope to add color to the pack and a surface to the base. The ground work will be made out of Latticrete, a darkish tan/sand colored tile grout that will dry hard.

A layer of groundwork done, second and final color added to the pack and now some individual parts painted and washed.
Still a ways to go but starting to look better.
Without a doubt, this power pack has been one of the most difficult models I have built to date, quite frustrating at times..
I have spotted a couple of items that need to be corrected but that will have to wait til New Years Day.

That's really looking nice, Keith!
Will this be a vignette or something more?
I'm looking forward to seeing it at our January meeting in s few weeks.
Happy New Year, my friend!

Stunning work my friend!!!
I was winding if you are going to SB a Challenger engine bay
I love the subtle weathering ands the way the ARV has the casual lived in look that British AFVs have.
Can't wait to see it finished.
