Here is the Marder III that I am finishing little by little (when inspiration strikes me). Your basic OTB build, except the figures, they are from the Tamiya Wespe. (guess that doesn't make it true OTB then huh?!) Anyway all that is left to do is mount the tools, weather them (ie. whitewashed to match), finish the figures, and add some snow to the base. Questions, Comments? There are two other pics (diff angles) in my gallery.

I really like it, the figures even look suitably cold. I'm no German armor expert, but looks great to me. What are you going to use for the snow?

Nice job on the snow camo ...let's see some more pictures !!! I've always been impressed by a good winter camo, not easy to do and yours looks great ..congrats. Oh one thing the german boots are usually black ...remembered not to just congradulate ..lol

Cool thanks for the comments guys....I haven't figured out what to use for snow yet...maybe the stuff they make for model railroading (forgot the companies name).

Thanks for the tip on the boots...thats what I get for following Tamiya's paint by numbers huh! More to come when it's finished.

Looks great. The tracks could use a little more sag, though. Maybe some fruils, or use some thread/glue to apply some downforce? Really nice whitewashing; what was the method?

Great job! I'm doing the same kit, and I have only comment: The little item next to the leaning figure, it's just above him in this picture, but anyhoo, shouldn't there be an antanna? Sorry I can't tell you how to make an antanna, maybe stretched sprue? Umm...I don't know how to do that either...... #:-) . Maybe someone else can.....

You're right Part-timer...they definitely need some sag...probably gonna use CA glue or some thread (as you suggested). As for the white wash: I painted it german grey, they using slightly thinned model master acryl flat white and a bigger 1/4" oval brush (i think) just kinda splashed it on until I was satisfied, clear coated, then used a thinned medium brown (oils) to weather and give it the semi-dirty appearance (came out well, given its only my second try...have a T34 that I whitewashed, if I can rescue it from my LHS I'll take some pics and post them).

MEMB; yup there should be an antennae there, I just haven't put it on yet....those stretched sprue ones are super fragile....and the ones from guitar string stay bent when the bend. That will be forth coming as well. Thanks for noticing, sometimes its the little things that are easiest to forget, and its guys like you( most of us in fact) that help us remember!

Nice work here so far. Maybe some wear and tear on the white-wash camo would look good.
Some worn areas where the dark grey shous through. Paint chipping may help here. Overall a nic job on the Marder III. Good start on the figures too.

Send us more pics as you proceed.

Cheers !!

Perhaps dry-brush with the base color on areas where both the whitewash and dirt would get rubbed off?
