Feel free to point out any problems. Anything I can't fix on this one will be noted for my next build. The main sights were left off since it is in travel mode.

Ok, the sight on the elevating side stays on as it is permanently mounted and calibrated. the sight on the bearing side comes out but the mount stays on. it too is permanently mounted. the Breech operating lever when closed is flush with the breech. when the trails are closed for travel, the trail locking pins go in the second hole on the trailers. not into the axle. I'll try to put some pics up as soon as I can.

here's a pic of where the trail locking pin goes during travel.

here's a couple of links to Toadman's page:
http://www.toadmanstankpictures.com/m2a2_m101.htmhttp://www.toadmanstankpictures.com/105.htmI know it's a m101 but they are the same beast ordinance wise.
as for the Pantel sight ( Part C24 ) I cut the sight off then drilled out the mount to make it empty for travel.you also need to mount parts C19 & C22. for travel I also cut the sight off C19 then drilled out the mount. Hope this helps.
Other than that it looks like a great build, looks good with the gun tractor. can't wait to see it weathered.
Here's a pic of my C1 (M101) as a salute troop gun, hence being clean.

Thanks much for the input. I should be able to make those fixes. Will post some updates once I've made those and dirtied it up a little.

Hi Chris,
Very nice looking work! As an ex-artilleryman, it's nice to see the subject! I served in the USMC in the 80's. Our batteries had 8 m-198 155mm howitzers and 4 m-102 howitzers. I can still remember the large amount of time we spent cleaning the things and polishing the brightwork (unpainted parts).
Keep up the good work!
Gary

Thanks for the comment. I use Tamiya 62 with a little dark yellow mixed in to fade it. It really darkens back up after applying the Future coat.

Thanks for the comment. I'm a former Redleg too, same time period 84-96. SP', only trained briefly on towed 105'.
