Hello all,
Continuing my travels back in time, here is another build which I finished in 2013, a captured North Korean BA-64. Based on Vulcan Models BA-64.
The main purpose for this build was that I wanted to practice and develop my very poor weathering skills, and as such the build was supposed to be quick and "out of the box" so I could quickly get to the painting stage. Well, it did not quite turn out that way. There were lots of missing items in the interior, and the exterior also received a number of scratchbuilt updated and also weld seams using Archer weld seam 3D decals.
Tools and other interior/exterior details were left off to accentuate the "captured vehicle" feel.
Markings were are custom made, applying them one letter at a time. I chose to place the name "Jeanie" on the other side of the vehicle for a better balance (I did not have any pics of the other side of the vehicle).
For what its worth, here are some pics (lots of them) covering the whole process.
Thanks for looking and as always, feedback is welcome. :-)
The real thing (for discussion purposes only):
Interior scratcbuilding and updates (the engine is not the correct one, only fitted there to fill the void):
Interior painted and weathered:
Very poor fit of upper and lower hull parts:
Exterior scratchbuilt updates:
Modulation and chipping:
After filter and wash:
Application of markings:
Weathering:

Great work overall! I don't see any "poor weathering skills" though...

Thank you very much Stefan.
This was my first attempt at more extensive weathering and I am glad that you like the end result.
I considered my previous attempts to be extremely poor (very underdone) since I was too frightened to "let loose" and destroy something.
This project allowed me to gain some confidence and courage in that area :-)

Well done. The scratch parts really add to the build. Simple yet effective way to showcase the model.

Darn, I was going to do this conversion. You have done it definitively. Beautiful build and nicely presented photo sequence. I will try to get around to posting pics of my BA-64B APC conversion.
