I wonder how the RFM Tiger 1 compares to the Tiger 1 kits? With another TUSK announced from Meng, I would rather stick with Meng..

Well... This just got a whole lot more interesting... Now we have two o kits of the exact same subject. Now I would expect the Meng kit to be of extraordinary caliber. I guess we'll just have to see how good the RFM kit will be.

To be honest the only interesting thing (for me personally of course) in this announcement is that RFM will probably release a full interior version too, as they did with Tiger.

By the way, I just noticed that their logo is "RMF", not "RFM"... huh?...

I personally couldn't care less about the "Box Art". My only concern is about what is actually contained within the box.

So do the M1A1 torsion bars for the running gear show in the interior as well if the hatches are opened up? I see in their advertisement that the torsion bars are supplied as separate parts. I have seen the overhead factory photos without the turret where the torsion bars are very visible and painted white.

Interesting that this is slated as a 3 in 1 boxing, not bad at all we will have to see how it stacks up against the Meng kit.

If the price of the first two releases are any indicator, this kit, and any succeeding versions, will retail for a lot less than Meng's and definitely less than Dragon's. Put me down for a couple. Ditto with the Gruppe Fehrmann Tiger I. RMF is quickly becoming one of my favorite manufacturers.

Actually 3 kits of the same subject; Tamiya's M1A2 SEP TUSK II is also the same tank.

It will be interesting to see if it actually comes out and how it compares to Meng's forthcoming kit(s).

There's not much to see inside an Abrams with the hatches open. The turret basket floor would prevent the torsion bars from being seen. An interior would be nice.

Thank you for the quick reply Joseph. Yes. a full interior would be very exciting for an Abrams 1/35 scale kit!

It looks like RFM's may have an interior based on this turret base CAD.

We shall see.

The question I am more interested in is will it be able to be built w/out the TUSK ERA panels on the side skirts? TUSK was only used for a short period of time in Iraq. Any other tank not in Iraq did not use TUSK I or TUSK II. Also, the side skirts are different when using the TUSK, so they would need to be changed or modified to build it w/out the TUSK ERA panels.

The pic is showing for me. It is also at the link to PMMS that Herman posted in his initial post.

Being somewhat involved in Meng kit design (not to mention the Dragon one...) after studying the RFM images carefully I say: for accuracy go with Meng. But maybe RFM will improve the design further. We'll see.

Whoa !!! Another "CoD IV" Abrams I don't understand why we need another new tool Abrams, but all is better as ugly and obsolete TUSK II from Tamiya.... (No slip skid, old mould of turret etc.). But - i prefer Meng before RyeFields - maybe we been surprised ?
