Pictures of ready model of British SPH AS-90. Completed around December 2014.
Model was not so bad taking into consideration that it is early Trumpeter but it is quite simple model, not many ad-ons in the box or not too many options apart from turning turret and elevated gun. That's why I decided to add metal barrel from RBModel, PE grills, single link tracks from Bronco and some resin equipment from Black Dog. Also I add some leftovers from other kits, like barrels, rope, boxes and made some wooden crates.

Very nice build, description of what you used and excellent photography. The dio base is also very interesting and not anything I had seen before. Did you work from a photo to create the dio base?

Thank you very much. The base and idea for it it's just my imagination .

Thank you. The suspension is not truly workable. it was simply adjusted to the base and then glued in place.

I enjoy highly weathered vehicles. I really like how the sand is seeping through the cracks in the walls. Nicely done all around.

However the concentina part at the bottom of the barrel is upside down it should be sagging down.

First off I have to say that I admire your skills incredibly. You really have mastered weathering, chipping, streaking. I wish my skills were that good.

However as a gunner I see a few issues with this dio.
The first is that the Gun would never be parked on something. (the concrete blocks). it would be placed on as flat a platform as possible to provide as stable a base as possible.
The second is the condition of the Gun itself. CARC tan is a very hard paint and doesn't chip well. so there would be minimal rusting. As well the Guns themselves are the colours of the Artillery, we as gunners would never let it get in that condition. Me as a Gunline Sgt Maj wouldn't allow it. Dusty and muddy, yes. rusty, no.

Food for thought for the next one. but as i said at the start awesome job, your skills are impressive.
