Marcos- that digital camo work on the figures is excellent! What paints did you use for that? The Meng Shi is looking good too with the dirt on the underside.

It's coming along very nicely, Marcos.. I really like the camo on the figure.. Are you planning on doing a base for it?

Karl, I used Vallejo paint. for th Uniform:
Base color is a 50/50 mix of Buff (70976) and Light gray (70990)
Green is a mixture several greens and blue, yellow, and white (I just kept adding until I got the color I wanted).
the olive color is yellow green (70881)
and the darkest color is German Grey (70995)
I did a little wash with Sepia wash over the base color and a little drybrushing with the base color plus white.

Sorry for not answering Hisham, but I have been away from home. Not sure if I will do a base for it. And the reason is simple, I don't have enough shelf spase!!! And the wife won't let my "toys" invade the living room.

No problem, Marcos

If space is a problem for you, you could always make a small base just the size of the vehicle itself - like a small vignette type thing.

In any case, it's looking really nice

Looking good Marcos. I like the mud up the side and I must say those figures are a perfect fit.

Hi Marcos,

Nice build all around! The colors/camo is interesting too - the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Cheers

I am satisfied with the result. The figures work well and it is clear that they were molded to fit the Meng Shi. Only complaint I have is that the machine gunner holds the mg at a slight angle, so that it forces the mg stand to go at that angle. Other than that, they look great and do give the sense of drama to the model. I still think that the decal digital camo ends up looking more realistic, but this attempt at hand painting it didn´t come out so bad.
As for the Hobby Boss Meng Shi, it was a breeze to build. Somebody asked for the colors I used on the vehicle: Vallejo Air 71017- Russian Green; Vallejo Model color 70819 Iraqi Sand and 70942 light green; with the usual compliment of oil filters, Mig washes, and Vallejo and Mig pigments. I had a lot of fun with this model. Thanks for your compliments and for following the build.

Its a great model Marcos and you've added a real nice bit of interest with the figures- this is the first time I've seen figures added to one of these. I think your painting of the digital camo has come out very nicely- plus the figures fit the vehicle so well that they look natural when in position. Excellent stuff.
