One of my picture references:
Not sure I like that light green the PLA uses in their camo.

Nice work on the camo, but your light green looks way different than the actual vehicle. Is this for a filter purpose so it doesn't end up too dark?

Hey, Marcos.. it's looking really nice so far.. looking forward to seeing more progress.
I saw those figures before and wanted to order a set, but wasn't sure of their quality.. are they decent figures?

Previous photo is after a white oil filter to give it more of a faded tone. I just did a yellow and ochre filter mostly on the light green. I will post pictures when it dries.

Hi Hisham. The figures are actually quite nice. Lots of detail:
I read somewhere that their only fault was that they are a bit tall for Chinese. I am not sure that in the PLA the special forces tend to be taller than the average chinese citizen. Anyway, here is a picture comparing it to a Tank figure:

And Dustin, I picked that Vallejo light green because I saw a couple of builds of modern Chinese armour where they used it. In the pictures it does look a lot paler than with natural light (mi desk lamp is cold white LED). I will see if tomorrow I take a picture with natural sunlight and post it.

The model still has to go through the complete weathering process.

Really excellent work Marcos. I built the parade version of this when it first came out. I didn't know there was a figure set available for this version- they look like really nice figures too- apart from the faces which look a little indistinct. Looking forward to seeing more of this!

Great build. I could not see the name of the figure/equipment sets. Could say what is the name of the company and where they are available. Thanks.

The company is call "And The Sails Plaything" - I'm sure it's a literal Chinese translation! As far as I know, the figures are only available from the company/manufacturer on Ebay. Their Ebay name is XING HOBBY - if you do a search for "1/35 PLA figures" you will find them. I have all their figure sets (except this one, as the vehicle doesn't interest me) and they are all unique and well done, both WWII and modern.

Not too bad Marcos, thanks for asking. Got the decals on the figures- just working on the base now before I start on weathering and washes etc.

Hi Marcos - your build looks great! I'm sure you'll do a great job wrapping it up, and then into a cool dio! I've often wondered about that kit - looks cool on the box, now I see it looks good built too!
I've seen these in real life, near Quiqdao - a convoy of them as well as what looked like 2.5 ton trucks. They didn't have the nice camo pattern, just dark green, and, hard tops on. I like yours more!
Oh! With the hard tops on I couldn't tell how tall the soldiers were! Btw - I was with a Chinese co-worker at the time, who served, and she is not all that tall!!!
Cheers
Nick

Working on the figures:
First time I try a digital camo by hand (vs. decal).

The camo looks pretty good to me.
Do the figures fit well in the seats inside the vehicle?

Looking great so far.
The tires look a bit too shiny but I'm sure you'll attend to that later.
Cheers,
Christophe
